India tour of South Africa - 2013/14

Jadeja in for Ashwin... I would've given him one more game overseas to show his worth, quite disappointed tbh.

Neither Ashwin nor Ojha on a spinning track!!!
Though Jadeja is there, but still ideally we would have needed a specialist spinner.
Now this decision has added more thrill to the match!!!

Really, Dhoni is an unorthodox captain.

So just one change in each team. Interesting ones.
Both teams have picked left-arm spinners..

Jadeja for Rahane would have made some sense .. going with 3 pacers and spinning all rounder is a bit baffling. Last game we were unable to take 20 wickets. This doesnt exactly help.

But India badly need an extra batsman instead of an extra bowler..
Though Jadeja can bat, but Rahane is better than him.

With both teams having displayed steely resolve and a never-say-die attitude, the Boxing Day Test in Durban is expected to produce another nail-biting contest.

I would back up Dhoni's decision as Ashwin isn't really our spinner of overseas condition. That was well reflected when Dhoni used him only for 6 overs in first innings of last test match, so gambling with Jadeja makes more logical point considering the conditions of this pitch. Somehow feel that left arm spinners would be key on this slow wicket, let us see.

No wonder they have been out of luck there.

Ashwin has performed well in New zealand in the past and so Dhoni may be thinking of using him there.
So he just wants to give a chance to Jadeja in SA piches.

It will be an interesting first session :).
The ball is expected to do a wee bit in the first hour.

hahaha, 13! What an interesting coincidence, so this match's outcome is definitely going to give a breakthrough for SA to get out of 13. ;)

Only if rain does not obstruct the game, leading to no result !!!

I suppose you meant a tie there which is far more rare than those combination of 13s. :p

There will be still 2 13s there unless they manage to tie the match.

What I don't understand is,
SA have many grounds for play, but they still organize the matches on the same 4 to 5 grounds..

Half of those won't pull in the crowds that the same 4 to 5 grounds will.

I have been really impressed with Murali Vijay`s intent so far. In all the innings so far he has fought it out against some fiery new ball bowling by Steyn and co. The scores might not suggest the importance of his efforts but Im mighty impressed. If he keeps doing this, the scores will eventually come. NZ, England and Australia are in for a tough summer if this Indian side keeps up this clarity! Really excited with our fearless approach and belief.

Dale Steyn has gone wicket-less for 57 overs in this series! Quite a big change for a bowler who usually picks a wicket every 42nd ball.

Ranagana Herath's 9 wickets in the test at Durban an year ago, might have prompted both teams to go with left arm spinners in this test.
