India tour of South Africa - 2013/14

7 meaningless odi matches?! That's mad!
I smell the bcci at work. They seem to be on a one man mission to end test cricket.

The BCCI themselves had shown their displeasure to the CSA for having awful no. of 7 ODI's. Guess there had to be a meeting regarding the tour itinerary ?

If you're also talking about IPL , then other boards are trying to follow the same route now :facepalm

7 ODI is for sure the worst decision and I would have too gone for an extra Test by reducing two ODI.

I want the ODI Bilateral series to be converted into a Trination series, maybe add in some team like New Zeland who can explode on their day.Bilateral series are very annoying to watch offlate.

PS:They werent enjoyable anytime.

Suggestion for a trinational series is the best but for sure is not going to happen. The fixtures are already made and no changes could be made now:facepalm

Holly ----! That pitch is a road because the scores have been high throughout all the matches. However, 248? That is a huge score by Dhawan. Our bowling is weak point so it won't be surprising to be me if we still lose it. It looks unlikely but going by the rate SA are going at, they might chase it.

I think it's the second highest ever in a List A game, ridiculous score.

Not even close to that. It is the 6th highest List A team total. The highest (496!) was posted by Surrey in Friends Provident Trophy back in 2007 against Gloucestershire. Brown and Clarke came up with absolutely ridiculous hitting in that match.

Here is the scorecard for everyone to refer.

Coming to the match and the series, Raina fails yet again and Pujara showed his List A average is not for nothing. The big question is will the Indians be brave enough to give Pujara a nod over Raina or Sharma?

LOL this A-tour has turned into a joke - our young guns were supposed to get experience in unfriendly conditions. What they are getting instead is pitches flatter than Indian roads

248 off 150 for Dhawan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and a total of 433!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got to be kidding ,I agrees that its the flattest pitch ever :facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm

He is talking about Shikhar Dhawan's score being the second highest in List A, not the actual team score.

I have bolded the statement because in the last 2 matches, it was Raina who scored runs coming under pressure, not Pujara. Raina is just going through a rough patch. Pujara is an awesome player but just because Raina is not in form, does not mean Raina should be dropped. Why drop Rohit Sharma? For once in his career, that guy has looked like he wants to score runs consistently and you want to drop him? Yes, he had a bad tour of Zimbabwe but again, Pujara did not set the world on fire as well.

This is just a meaningless OD tri-series. The only thing I am interested in is how India A does in the longer format of the game against South Africa A.

I meant personal score, only Ali Browns 268 is higher than the 248 Dhawan hit.

Yes, you are correct in that case. It is amazing at the rate which India is getting good batsmen. They have went through the batting change with utmost ease.

I think it is too early to say so, as others have pointed out, the teams are getting roads to play on.

I'll still wait for the unofficial test series to give my opinion in this regard, and obviously if the pitches are bowler friendly, it would be of much help.
