India

How do you pick a side now? Seriously, almost everyone did well against England and it will be mighty harsh on a player to ask him to sit out after a good performance.

I think Dhoni will go back to 4 men pace attack but this time including 2 spinners. So I guess the fast bowlers will be Zaheer and Pathan and the 2 spinners will be Ashwin and Harbhajan.

Tough one really...

Considering that our next one is against Australia, I would go with this XI:

G Gambhir
V Kohli
S Raina
Y Singh
R Sharma
M Dhoni
I Pathan
H Singh
R Ashwin
Z Khan
L Balaji

Tough on Sehwag, but this lineup looks good. After today's innings, Rohit suddenly comes very much into reckoning. He also did well in one of the warm ups. He played a blinder today when no one expected anything from him. And I will play 5 bowlers and not give much to Yuvraj or Raina.

:lol are you out of your mind? Not playing Sehwag? Really?>

For me this will be the lineup

Gambhir
Sehwag
Kohli
Sharma
Yuvraj
Raina
Dhoni
Pathan
Balaji
Singh
Ashwin

Having just two seamers in Pathan and Balaji (and that too both military medium bowlers) is a big risk. If one of the seamers has an off day, a spinner has to be inducted soon into the Powerplays which is a risk. If Warner stays till the spinner is introduced into the Powerplay, he could tear into that spinner. And I guess we are not rating Bhajji and Pathan's batting abilities well enough in these conditions. They are handy big hitting bats. Even Ashwin can score quick enough.

Whatever. I will never leave Sehwag out of the team. Leaving him out yesterday was stupid too considering he is short of runs and needs time in the middle.

Let me get this straight, you would leave out an in-form player - Rohit Sharma, for a player out of form solely based on experience?

----------

Just like you play according to the pitch, I would pick a side that can get the best out of the pitch.

Batting line-up: any

G Gambhir
V Kohli
S Raina
R Sharma
Y Singh
MS Dhoni
I Pathan (AR)

Bowling line-up: flat

I Pathan (AR)
H Singh
R Ashwin
Z Khan
L Balaji

Bowling line-up: turner

I Pathan (AR)
H Singh
R Ashwin
P Chawla
Z Khan

Bowling line-up: seam

I Pathan (AR)
R Ashwin
Z Khan
L Balaji
A Dinda

Sehwag
Gambhir
Kohli
Y Singh
Sharma
Raina
Dhoni
Pathan
Ashwin
H Singh
Khan/Dinda

This is better? Obviously I won't meant the typical 7 batsmen, 4 bowlers there. Chawla misses out.

Just as Epic says, Rohit has come back to form now. Sehwag has never been a great success in international T20 cricket. And Rohit Sharma is more experienced than Sehwag in intl T20's, has a higher average than him, and now Rohit is the in-form guy (based on the games he has played this tournament including the warm ups).

And we need 5 bowlers. 4 bowlers is a big risk and you saw what happened against Afghanistan when we played 4 bowlers. We came close to losing. If it was an Australia or South Africa or Pakistan in place of Afghan, we would have been pummeled badly in that game. Ashwin and Harbhajan should be the spinners, with Pathan, Balaji and Zaheer as the pacers. Zaheer is a liability, but seeing the way Dinda bowled last game, Zaheer is a better of the two liabilities.

I agree on leaving Sehwag out he is not inform and this is a major tournament.

I like to slot in Kohli at number 3 and having Dhoni open the inns with Gautam.

Harbhajan certainly looks like he is on a mission, with him inform the Aussies have their work cut out, its an uphill task for them but I cant see them being able to past a rejuvenated Indian side, however the rain once more may be the deciding factor in this game!

Nice to see ya talk something positive about the Indian side... Cheers!:cheers

As in the last game hope sharma does the blinder again !!!counting on him, kohli in the next game, the super will be a great thing to watch in the weekends, looking forward for it .... :D the funny thing is that group A looks like a easy group to win from .B is like in the hell :P Good luck india i say :D
From my point of view India and RSA/ paks have big chance !
on the other side west indies have big chance in their group as well as lankans !

If India start off with a win tomorrow against Australia, we will be in a good spot. But if we lose, we will be in a major soup. Already an India-Pakistan match is huge pressure. Going into that game with a defeat behind you with the need to beat both Pakistan and SA to have a chance, the pressure and stress levels will tear the roof.

Hope India wins tomorrow. We can do it. Australia might be good and solid, but we are playing in well known conditions, and we are on a high after demolishing England. Tomorrow, hope Dhoni uses his cards well. Open the bowling with Ashwin, and target Warner and Watson. Getting these two out cheaply can open the gates for India.

Warner and Watson going to the dug out in first or second over will be really great, they both are the batsmen who play strong cricket, when compared with others.
