Bangalore Royal Challengers is the team that is going to represent the city of Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, the inaugural Twenty20 cricket tournament to be held in India. The team is owned by Shravi and he assisted by Voldemort . Rahul Dravid, the captain of the team is the Icon Player. Martin Crowe, the former New Zealand captain, has also been signed as a member of the management team. Venkatesh Prasad, the former Indian fast bowler and the present bowling coach of India has been declared the coach for the team.

Players​

The players in the team (except for Rahul Dravid, who was the Icon Player), were selected in an auction conducted by BCCI . India's off spinner Harbhajan Singh along with Australia's Stuart Clark was the costliest buy for 2001 . Other players included in the team were South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs and Jacques Kallis . India's test captain Anil Kumble . Sri Lanka's captain Mahela Jayawardene and former New Zealand cricketer Stephen Fleming .

Kolkata Knight Riders is the franchise representing Kolkata in the Indian Premier League. The team will be led by Sourav Ganguly, also the Icon Player for the team . The name of the team was revealed on March 10, 2008 with an official team unveiling ceremony on March 11, 2008. The official theme of the team is Korbo, Lorbo, Jitbo Re (We will do it, Fight for it, Win it) and the official colors are black and gold.

Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team is the icon player and will lead the Kolkata franchise . Also in the team are Australia's Brett Lee , Adam Gilchrist . Pakistan's Misbah ul Huq and Younus Khan . South Africa's all rounder Shaun Pollock and India's opener Robin Uthappa are also in the squad .
