Windies have gone completely into defensive mood!!!" Either a stroke or leave it to the keeper & if possible take single " is the strategy followed by Windies!!! They are working out that perfectly!!!
Dravid on the other side, wants a break through badly!!! He stopped Sreesanth and Pathan and brought the bowling change in both the ends!!! Munaf Patel and Anil Kumble were replacing them. Even in this innings, Dravid was preserving Agarkar.
CAPTAIN AND VICECAPTAIN THINKING!!!!
Dravid after having a long chat with Sehwag, adjusted the field... He was attacking very much!!! But Windies reponse remained the same!!! They had frequent chats with the bowler and were trying different things... This shows how badly Indian skipper neeeds a wicket....
Munaf Patel bowled brilliantly and looked threatening of all the bowlers!!! Kumble was mixing his varieties extremely well. But Windies were extremely watchfull at the same time!!! So the bowling change did not bring much effect to India except for controlling the runs!!!!
IMPRESSIVE BOWLING CARD
Meanwhile, Umpires announced the time for Tea Break. The players started to leave the field... Windies were successful in this session as they did not loose any wicket!!! Munaf Patel was pick of all the bowlers. WI : 22/0 , After 18 Overs ( Tea, Day4 )
Hinds --- 10*(58)
Gayle --- 3*(50) Need 387 to Win.
R.S : Welcum to the five minutes chat with one of the legends in cricket, Sunil Gavaskar!!! well Sunil, what is ur thought currently running about this match?
S.G : First of all,Indians have done their job in batting setting the huge target...Well, that was an exceptional innings by Yuvraj.
Also in the last session, i feel Windies have done their job. I guess that is a preplanned strategy to stay at the crease rather than throwing the wicket.
R.S : They have played enough defenses and infact they did not bother to look at the scorecard as they felt staying at the crease was important!!!
But could 400 be achievable in 5 sessions and also they have batsman like Lara and match winners like Bravo and Sarwan?
S.G : I think they wanted a steady start, they have done it infact... It wudn't be a suprise if they go over the bowlers in the last session... I m telling this for two reasons,
1) They seem to be well settled at crease. 2) So for Last session has helped batsman more than the bowlers.
So i think they have set a nice platform now!!! So if they go for runs in next session, lets say they get around 100, then they will be left with around 300 tommorrow!!!! Also important thing is that they shd not loose any wickets!!!
R.S : Yep, wickets are crucial, its tough for them to get as u say becos we have seen Munaf,Kumble, Sreesanth and also Pathan all bowling well... so its tough to go for runs without a wicket!!!
S.G : well, I told u just one of the possibility in Windies point of view!!! In Indians point of view, they have plenty of options available.... Kumble is the tough guy in Day5, Munaf has threatened in both the innings so for!!! Ajit is yet to bowl... So lot of options available for India... Only thing is they have to utilise it properly!!!
R.S : Proper Utilization is more important... I agree with u... So one last question!!!
What is ur prediction on the result of this match?
S.G : As i told u, Windies can try win this game only if they go for runs in next session without a wicket that would create more pressure on Indian bowlers tommorow.... And i guess there are gud chances for a draw if the follow the current strategy...And India have chance to win the first battle if bolwers like Kumble and Munaf strikes at regular interval...
So still the contest is nicely balanced!!!
R.S : Thanx Sunil for all ur thoughts on this match!!! Its time now to get back to the game... Important session coming up LIVE on STAR SPORTS!!! Watch and enjoy the game...
Watch more detailed analysis on FOURTH UMPIRE at the end of Day's play...Till then bye from us!!!
The players came out of the dressing room and were ready to start the final session of Day4. Munaf Patel started this session. He bowled extremely well and no runs were taken that over. It was the fifth consecutive maiden over by Munaf. Dravid had a long chat with Kumble and Ajit Agarkar and was contented to continu with Kumble. Well, everyone were wondering why Dravid is hesitating to bring a gud bowler and tht too when current situation needs him.
Kumble also bowled well..He mixed his varieties very well... Windies batsmen were finding very difficult to get runs. Kumble finished his over with the maiden and its his second maiden of the spell.
PATEL SENT GAYLE BACK TO PAVILION!!!!
Munaf continued his sixth over...
* The first ball was a good bouncer and Gayle just bent down to let it go to the keeper.
* The Second ball was attempted yorker, and Gayle went for a defence.
* The third ball was moving across the left hander and Gayle attempted to play but missed!!!!
Then Dravid came running to Munaf and had a chat, soon Sehwag joined them and all the three decided to make some field changes. The field was made extremely strong in off side and there was only one man in the legside near the boundary...This was shocking to all.... The idea was clear now that Munaf was going to bowl outside the off stump line.
* Also, Munaf decided to go around the wicket. Gayle stood staring at the field and wanted the adjustments in the side screen tht was done too...
* Gayle got ready to face Munaf... Munaf delivered a quick bouncer at Gayle, and Gayle went for a pull shot.
* Unfortunately, Gayle had a top edge and the ball travelled to Sehwag and ennded with safe hands!!! Sehwag generally doesnt drop those lolly pops!!!
DRAVID's FIELD CHANGE!!!
Gayle was not happy... There was no need for that pull shot... As there was noone in the legside field, Gayle attempted it and fell in the trap set by Dravid... India got an important break through... Brian Lara is the new batsman replacing Gayle... He has to player a gud skipper role to save Windies!!!!
WONDERFUL SPELL BY MUNAF!!!
Munaf Patel is yet to give a run in his spell of six overs!!!He got consecutive six maidens and this seems to be his best start so for in his career.... Munaf has threatened the batsmen right from the start!!!!
WI : 22/1 ( 4:10 pm, Day 4 )
Gayle --- 3(60) dismissed by Munaf Need 387 to Win.
