S.G : Welcome to the Cricket Cafe show for the finals of The DLF cup between West Indies and Australia! The match was full of entertainment provided from both the teams! We have with us Mr.Geoffrey to discuss the detailed anaylsis of the match! Good evening Geoffrey, So whats ur opinion on this match?

G.B :Good evening Sunil! Atlast i saw an competetive cricket today from Windies... The target of 274 on a grassy conditions was nevr going to be easy.. but Windies instead of giving it away, they outsmarted right from the ball one during the chase!

S.G : you are right geoffrey... Coming back to the Aussie batting, do u think some more cud have been added to the total?

G.B : Definitely 300+ was possible with the form they were in against India! But it was a great job done by windies bowlers to slow them up in the first twenty overs and also Windies bowlers were able to get the wickets in regular intervals which Aussies failed while Windies were chasing! But one can never deny that Gayle gave a threatening start to Aussies that shattered their hopes completely!

S.G : That was brilliant performance from Gayle.. Infact it shd be one of his unforgettable innings! Also Ramdin and Lara supported extremely well! Gayle remained unstoppable through out his innings!

G.B : Thats a clear indication that Gayle was going, going, going and going on ....

S.G :Also Aussies tried different bowling changes but this man never changed his approach and remained attacking through out his innings! I really wonder why bowlers like McGrath and Lee were not able to strike early atleast with the wicket of Ramdin, as these bowlers are cpabale of doing the initial damage always!

G.B : The answer is very simple, Batsmen were watchful and Gayle was dominating! Also Brian Charles Lara who came after the wicket of Ramdin played an crucial part!

S.G : yes Geoffrey, that was an very important innings becos, any further wicket at that stage wud have bounced Aussies back into the game which Lara denied them with the help of Gayle...

G.B : Also, Aussies are generally capable of giving away runs in beginning and taking many wickets in middle but these two really outsmarted the opponents!

S.G : Lara who started as a supporting role, went on to play more aggressivley than Gayle in the middle and infact these two's aggressiveness,in one stage, brought down the required rate to around 3 runs per over!

Now we have a look into Lara's pitch map,

G.B : Thats another impressive performance from Windies skipper and thats a way for any skipper to be an example for his fellow mates!

S.G : So Gayle starting the damage initially and Lara joining him in the middle and took the Windies team to one of the greatest victory for them! " This is dream victory for Windies? " isnt it Geoffrey?

G.B : Definetly it is! Winning the world champs in the neutral ground is never going to be easy! But Windies have shown the exceptional performance through out the series by loosing just one match in this DLF cup! Well done Windies and Lara

S.G : Its right! Lara's most favourite quotes of " Aussies are beatable " is proved atlast in this DLF cup finals! The way Windies played in this tournament revealed their promising commitment to this game and definitely lots of hard works must have been there for Windies!

G.B : Infact all the three teams worked hard but in the end, there can be only one winner and it was Windies!

S.G : Ok Geoffrey, its time for the special segments of this show! Lets start up with, Master Blaster of the Day!

Well, from Aussies Symonds played some quick fire works and in Windies, Gayle started in similar way like Symonds! But Our Master Blaster of the day goes to Brian Charles Lara who was going blind over the bowlers in middle and played an crucial part for the victory!

G.B : As i told u before, he set an perfect example of being a skipper and leading his team to win this trophy! Also he got two back to back huge sixes off Lee where myself was shouting from the commentary box in excitement

S.G : Even i was also excited! Now lets go to the second segemnt, Safe Hands of The Day!

Well, there were many good catches taken today but safe hands goes to Chanderpaul who took an amazing catch in final part of Aussie innings!

G.B : This is making me to remember Rhodes of South Africa who used to fly often in cricket grounds :laugh

S.G : :laugh Thats my favourite too.. Rhodes flying like a superman! Now we go to the final segment, Super Moment of the day!

Well, as geoffrey said, Target of 274 was tough on this pitch, but one man made it to look easy... Its Gayle who started aggressively against the dangerous bowlers and remained as the main cause for the victory! Domination of the Opening bowlers by Chris Gayle, The Big Man of Windies is our super moment of the day!

G.B : Just One Sentence to describe it, Its simply outstanding performance by this big man! :hpraise

S.G : Well Geoffrey, we are coming back to the end of this show and infact its the last show for DLF cup! So final words from u.... What are the things that has to be learned by all the three teams from this tournament?

G.B :

* India :- The team spirit was less when compared to the previous tournaments! Bowlers.... oh thats the department which Indians need emergency repairing! But still, they are one of the promising sides for Champions Trophy!

* Australia :- They need to be confident not Over confident! That wud do i guess to depict the entire scenario for Aussies!

* Windies :- They have shown the promising cricket in this tournament... All they need is to develop this ability and continue the same in future tournaments!

In general, all the three teams are definitely going to be tough to compete in Champions Trophy!

S.G : Well said Geoffrey! With those lovely words from Mr.Boycott, we are concluding this show!

Windies Celebrations
​

Welcome back to the Star Sports to join the celebrating moments from Malaysia! Well, we are about to start the presentation ceremony in few moments but before that there are some enjoyable moments on the ground going on from the Windies side!

Lara and his team men started jumping in joy... All the players from his team have now joined their skipper Brian Charles Lara to go around the stadium and convey the thanx to the valuable spectators who have been providing the excellent support for Windies through out the tournament!

Also, Windies spectators are playing the music in joy and celebrating the victorious moment with dance and music! Infact, some of Windies players like Gayle and Sarwan also started dancing on the field! The situation at the moment in Windies side is completely uncontrollable.... The fans roaring with joy and jumping from the seats.... Meanwhile Lara and his team mates were just continuing their job of conveying thanx by bowing their head proudly to their supporters for their valuable support that has played an important part in boosting the team spirit!

In this soundy atmosphere, the arrangements for presentation ceremony is going on and it is yet to begin in few moments! We will come back after a short break with match presentation!

R.S : Welcome back to the Presentation ceremony of the grand finals between Australia and West Indies! It was an fantastic match overall with the great entertainment provided by Symonds, Hogg, Gayle and Lara today! Well, lets start with the presentation now!

R.S : I first like to call Australian captain, Ricky Ponting on to the stage please to have few words with us!

R.S : Well Ricky, Very bad luck today! Whats ur view on this?

Well, it was a tough game for us in the later part of the match.. that is, when Windies were batting! We completely lost control in bowling allowing Gayle and Lara to bat through out and thats where we made mistake of not getting the wickets in regular intervals! At the same time, Gayle and Lara batted well & they outsmarted our bowlers!

R.S : Also Ponting, when u finsihed the first innings, did u think that 274 is enough?

Actually, it was competitive score especially on this track... Only thing we failed to do was, we didnt get wicket with the new ball and that has paid all the penalty for us!

R.S : Now, the next series is going to be big... " Champions Trophy "! Whats ur opinion on it?

Yes,its a major tournament for all the teams! We are starting our journey to India soon after some minor preparations in Australia! We will take this finals as one of the lessons to learn and hope our boys continue to perform well in India!

yes, its a big moment today and am very happy to be the part of the victorious team in this finals! The entire team performed well today and am proud to contribute to the team's victory!

R.S : Also, how was the wicket when u batted... was the wicket assisting u or u dominated the bowlers irrespective of the condition ?

The wicket was nice to bat after getting used to 50 overs! I just enjoyed batting and was trying my level best and it worked out! Also Brian gave me a solid support and encouragement in other end!

R.S : So whats ur opinion on the champions Trophy in Indian conditions? i guess, it will suit to u crack fireworks there

Actually,No idea on it at the moment... We are completely in party mood to celebrate this victory! I will always try my level best to contribute to the team!

But after a long discussion, we have decided to give this Man of the series to the little Master, Sachin Tendulkar who have dominated in all matches except one that includes 170+ not out and 130+ in another match!

Thanx Ravi! Congrads to Windies too! It was a great match today... to be honest, both the teams performed well and Gayle took the game away from Aussies! Yeah its little worrying that India wasnt able to qualify for the finals but hope to do well in future!

R.S : Well, Champions Trophy in Home ground.... Ur View?

Rather than home ground factor, Its all the competetive teams participating! So definitely going to be a tough series! Looking forward for the challenge and hope we do our level best!
