Bangladesh Vs England

Elimination Round,Live From Chennai.

Welcome to the first match of the Champions Trophy between Bangladesh and England which is going to be elimination match or qualifying match for both the teams to play in Pre-lim round. This is Day-Night match.

Well, lets Look at the wicket now with Mr.Boycott waiting for the pitch report and Weather Condition.

Pitch & Weather Report

Weather Conditions : Well, its an excellent atmosphere for cricket this afternoon in Chennai. The weather is perfect to play cricket. As its a Day-Night game, the hot conditions are leaving way to cool sea breeze! And no doubts that, we will get the full day's play without any interruption of weather. Also, Dew Factor may play an small role in the second innings of the match.

Pitch Report

pitch2tc4.jpg

This is going to be hunting grounds for runs by the batsmen. The pitch is dusty here and seems to support the swing hardly but will favour the spinners later on in the innings to little extent.... Still, the bowlers are going to find a tough job to contain the batsmen.

Now comes the problem for the capatains to make a decision after winning the toss as the high scores might be chasable. But its better to choose batting first and try to set a good target & put the pressure on opposition becos Dew later on, might slow down the outfield.

But still, its anyone's game.... Do the basics well and rest will be automatically done.

Toss :- Bangladesh Skipper Ashraful won the toss and elected to bat first. Well, we have to wait for atleast 20 overs to see if this decision is correct.

Teams

Bangladesh

banglineuple7.jpg

Sad News for Bangladesh is
, one of the main bowlers, Razzak is out of this match in the last minute due to fever. This is going to trouble Bangaldesh a bit especially in this batting paradise.

England

englineupjf5.jpg

England XI looks strong with Broad and Monty playing in the side. Giles was ruled out of the TeamXI after some promising session by Monty in Nets. But the bowlers are going to be tested a lot in this pitch.

So all set ready and players are just waiting for the Umpires to say " Start ".

Bangladesh Off To An Unbelievable Start

( England bowlers in Panic )

It was Hoggard and Broad who started with the new ball for England. Both were very uncomfortable becos the pitch provided 0% assistance for the pace and it was like a tennis ball for the batsmen to hit. Opening batsmen, Omar and Nafees utilised this to a great extent and made England bowlers panic.

Omar & Nafees ~ Aggressive Start!

greatstartyv3.jpg

Omar and Nafees cleverly utilised the pitch condition and started freeing their arms and attempted many big shots. Omar was the most successful among these two and he got four huge sixes from which three came from the English frontline bowler, Hoggard. Nafees, in other end, provided a great assistance to his partner and he was also playing aggressively llike Omar.

The bowlers were shocked to see this Bangla's approach and Strauss brought the bowling change soon by bringing Mahmood and Flintoff in place of Hoggard and Broad. Mahmood seemed to threaten a little but it was due to the accurate line maintained by him. Flintoff started well with his Inswingers but Omar was moving his feet very well that those Inswingers were smashed for boundaries.

Century Partnership

partnershippp5.jpg

This pair was accelerating the score card at the high rate of more than 6 per over. Meanwhile, Omar brought his fifty in style with a boundary! Nafees also did very well and this pair brought the century partnership in the 15th Over.

Bowlers were frustrated as the pitch was not supporting them. It did not provide movement also and batsman at the moment seem to enjoy to a great extent!

Its looking that, at the moment, the Toss has played an major role! Strauss is definitely thinking of Monty and other slow bowlers now as fast bowlers were inefective. Meanwhile, 15 Overs ended & Bangladesh, to everyone's suprise, gains upper hand over England at the moment!

Bangladesh :- 103/0(15)
Nafees : 40*(42)
Omar : 61*(48)
5 Fours 4 Sixes

England in Panic at the Moment!

Bangladesh In Good Position

( England Picks Two Quick Wickets )

Well, after some blasts by the opening batsmen of Bangladesh, Strauss doesnt want to continue with the fast bowlers and brought Monty & Dalrymple into the attack. Strauss hoped that spin might do some damage but the result remained unaffected for Bangladesh, i.e, Domination continued!

Nafees & Omar - Unstoppable Pair!

contdomntnsd0.jpg

Introduction of spinners did not stop both Omar & Nafees from hitting boundaries. Monty was little impressive with two maiden overs but that was compensated by a huge six from Omar off Monty( which was almost caught but managed to go over the fielder's head ). This was Omar's Fifth Six!

Nafees and Omar, also rotated strikes in a very matured way! This was adding on pressure to Strauss and his side. England badly needed a wicket but both the openrs denied that opportunity!

Other Main advantage is that, this pair was scoring at more than 6 per over which was worrying England. Both of them took Bangladesh quickly to 183 Runs without a wicket! Strauss was almost about to give up with the spin attack & Dalrymple striked with the crucial and most needed wicket of Nafees.

Atlast A Wicket for England, Nafees Departs!

nafeesoutfw3.jpg

Dalrymple delivered a quick delivery and Nafees in attempt to go over the top, was completely decieved and missed it. The ball went towards the stumps resulting in a clean bowled!

Atlast, England striked with the wicket and Nafees walked towards the pavilion and he recieved a applauses from Bangladesh spectators and from the dressing room for the brilliant effort in taking Bangladesh to a good start! But another person who was also responsible, Omar is still there at the crease. Bashar replaced Nafees to join Omar!

Hoggard Provides Another BreakThrough!

basharoutxv3.jpg

After the Wicket of Nafees, Strauss immediately responded to it by bringing the fast bowlers into action! Hoggard was brought back and it worked for England. Hoggard got rid of Bashar increasing the wicket column of Bangladesh by one!

Hoggard bowled a slow delivery and Bashar was tempted & attempted a huge shot to get the maximum, but the timimg was improper, that resulted in the ball to remain in air for some time and landed in Broad's hands without any problems.

Broad took the catch at ease forcing Bashar to walk towards the pavilion. Ashraful is the new batsman to join Omar now at the crease. England is still looking for Omar's wicket who is nearing the century.

In England's point of view, They need couple of quick wicket before Bangladesh enters last 10 Overs especially Omar's wicket!

In Bangladesh point of view, Omar needs to stay till the end to convert this good start into a challenging target!

Bangladesh :- 200/2(32)
Omar : 96*(94)
Ashraful : 0*(2)

Nafees : 75(82) Dismissed by Dalrymple
H.Bashar: 16(16) Dismissed by Hoggard

ohhhhhhh 2 lost bangladesh.......but they are still in good position nice update again mate
