SA Closing in the Follow-on Margin!

Well, with the day4's climate being cloudy, umpires and players followed soon and play resumed at normal time. Everyone were expecting the early start but there were some drying works taking place in morning. Indian skipper was contented to operate with seamers to utilise the overcasting conditions. Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan started off the Day4's play. The crowd attendance was good as expected and everyone were in exciting mood cheering their teams.

Some Words Fight!

Zaheer, in his very first over was attempting some bouncers and trying to vary the pace and line. Hall got decieved most of the times by trying to go over the bowler.

In one of the occasions, Hall was completely decieved by Zaheer's bouncer. Immediately, Khan went near Hall and exchanged some words with the batsman. It looked like some sarcastic comments that went on between them. Immediately, Dravid went and asked Zaheer to calm down. Anyways, umpires wud have noted this down. Have to wait and see if there is some penalties for Zaheer or Hall. Soon after, scenario was brought back to normal. Hall started attacking the bowlers.

Hall In Attacking Mode.

There was a immediate change in approach from Hall. He switched to attacking mode and started to go over the bowlers. Zaheer was well punished for his sarcastic comments. Gibbs was found often discussing with Hall to maintain his patience. Dravid was completely frustrated with the way things have started on Day4.

After getting nothing from pace bowlers , Dravid brought the bowling change. He introduced spinners in both the ends. Gibbs and Hall were playing the spinners cautiously. Gibbs was mostly contented to give strike to Hall. It was when the things were going smoothly for SouthAfrica, Kumble brought the major breakthrough by getting rid of Gibbs.

Huge Blow : Hall Dismissed!

Hall, as he was already in attacking mode, tried to attack Kumble too. Hall was successful initially.. but struggled when Kumble came around the wicket. In one of the deliveries, Kumble concentrated on that rough area.. and he got a slight turn which Hall wanted to go aggressively over the top for huge one. But Hall was completely decieved and ball struck the stumps.. resulting in clean bowled.

Hall stood staring at the stumps and Gibbs. Meanwhile, Kumble and the entire Indian team was celebrating this breakthrough. Dravid was the most relieved person among all. Hall walked with lot of disappointments and SouthAfrican captain arrived as a new batsman. Hall recieved huge applauses from everyone for his outstanding entertainment especially on Day4.

Smith, straight away got off the mark with glorious cover drive for a four. Harbhajan and Kumble were trying to create chances for another wicket but both Smith and Gibbs turned out to be watchful. Dravid made some bowling changes by bringing back Ganguly but SA denied the chance of another wicket and crossed 200 runs. Soon after, umpire removed the bails off and asked the players to go for lunch break. The players left the field.

So, the first session of Day4 belonged to SouthAfrica with Hall smashing all over.. And SA lost only one wicket in this entire session which is Hall. After the departure of Hall, both the batsmen( Gibbs and Smith ) were careful enough guiding their team to lunch without further wicketfall. SouthAfrica, now , are closing in the follow-on margin. Meanwhile, Dravid wud be still looking for a collapse with the help of spin twins. Have to wait and see how the things turnout after lunch

Hall played well but still they have 7 wickets left and they can cross the follow on margin . India have to pick quick wickets

Congratulation on your outstanding result on your exams.
Hall could have been a much worse threat for India if Kumble didn't have the opportunity of removing him. However, SA still has 7 wickets left, so India will need to attempt to warp them up before they score another 126 runs.

This is definitely destined for a draw now, great batting from Hall, although he would have liked to go on and get a hundred after getting so close. South Africa will pass the follow on target, stopping the possibility of an India win.
