India's Tests against South Africa cancelled (apparently by CSA)

I don't care what!!!! BCCI is behind forcing CSA!!!!

Epic fail.

That strikes me, since they took the tests off, why can't there be a couple of T20 games? India merely play two T20 games this year and for the next, till the 2010 T20 world cup. One's happening today against SL, and the other one days after.

Haha, well don't I look like an idiot now? Silly Poms, ruining everything!

Fortunately, it says the test matches will be played at a later date.

There is always a reason to bash the BCCI :p. There still money grabbing bar stewards IMO.

I still don`t feel any sympathy towards BCCI. Had the SA cricket board asked for the ODIs to be cancelled, I doubt the BCCI would`ve agreed. They are always too keen on cutting down on tests. Had it been the ODIs which the Proteas had asked to be cancelled, they`d have replaced them with some other team and would`ve gone ahead with it. Show how all boards, not just BCCI are too intent on making test cricket the sacrificial lamb and not ODIs.

That later date will never come. I expect something foolish to follow like the Tests during India`s tour of SA scheduled in Dec 2010 to be scrapped because of BCCI requesting them to do so and 5 additional ODIs to be scheduled in India as a warm up for the 2011 World Cup.;)

No! No more T20I's for India!. Remember Misbah? You know what that shot has caused?

*shudders*

No, Keeping ODIs Includes lot of factors, If they could replace ODIs with Tests, they could've, but i think the boards are not aiming for longer version games in the time span of the tour, add to that, T20's are short, and would make the tour more meaningful than 5 ODIs if there are a couple of them, rather than cutting it short to a come-play-go tour. There's no time before the tour, SA have English tour to finish, but after they finish the ODI series against India, they have spare time before they head to the T20 WC, so a T20 series is a good thing. It'd help India and SA have some warm-up for the T20 WC.

But i don't see any decision coming. :noway.

Still, the BCCI can force in some kind of tests in the next year. Maybe reschedule the Pakistan series that was cancelled recently due to the Pakistan terror situation and play it at a neutral venue. But they wont do it, and will cite a packed calendar as the reason (packed due to IPL). Only hope is 2011 when we play England and Australia away (it will be a really good year if the BCCI dont poke their nose into those schedules). Also awaiting our tour to SA next year (again if BCCI doesnt interfere).

Ok buddies. Now if you are as "GREAT" & "CONCERNED" about cricket as y'all were acting to be, I'd like you all to whine about CSA & bash them just like you did to the BCCI ! :sarcasm:sarcasm

PS- I expect this thread to die soon, as no one might really have the guts to say "Sorry, wrong judgement" :sarcasm

Nah, don't get up on it mate. Skip the BCCI posts. :p

Life's good..

India touring Bangladesh is like those ads, Buy 1, get 1 free. I don't understand the need, we've played Sri Lanka too in most consequences, enough to move ahead and play against some team Like SA, which sadly is now the half slice of a bread, so yeah, lateral 2010 and 2011 see India playing good and different opponents once again, Hopefully tests!

The domination of Domestic Cricket is covering the space, What? IPL-3! CLT20! and the odd or even fixing of Asia cup and T20 WC in the same year. Doesn't make much space for anything to do. 2010 is an OK season i guess, and for the ranking matter, they have to win all the tests they play to stay in the party, but i don't think they're gonna hold it for long unless we play more tests. Playing SA was a fine chance, and now it's screwed up.

Well, its only fair isn't it, after 7 pages of bulls... against BCCI when it wasn't even our fault? :)
