India's tour of Australia - January 2016

can we just drop the whole seam bowlers and allrounders bunch and get some potentially talented u-19 players in im sure they will do a better job learning instead of these guys learning after INTL call up and in 5 yrs we may have a better team!

Mean while i dont see them performing worse than this!

Yeah its an idiotic claim to begin with, so no wonder it was denied. One slow innings from Shikhar playing himself back to form, and suddenly Indian batsmen are selfish. And even Shikhar Dhawan got out trying to up the pace and make up for the slow start, he was swining his bat left and right when he got out.

That too from Maxwell who was getting flayed by his coach before this series for just throwing is wicket away.

I wonder which shows greater commitment, grind it out in the middle score the hard runs, or walk in play a senseless shot and get out.

Look mate, there are two ways of handling a constructive criticism, One is to learn from it and make improvements where the problem resides and the second way is to completely wipe out the feedback and insist that everything is going perfect.. The problem is there and we have witnessed in this match as well. Two tons yet such kind of a loss. I don't rate this claim as a sudden thing its a history..

Consistent winning and to be on top required a first-rate first class cricket system which is there in Australia and sub-continent is clearly lacking it. They are better in doing their homework

Dhoni should resign as captain irrespective of what happens at WT20! & I am not a Dhoni Hater!

Errh yeah everything is not going perfectly, but the problem is not the batsmen, its the bowlers, who are not selfish at all, just love giving runs away. If India work on that, then I think you will find targets like 308 suddenly become very defendable, with the batsmen scoring at the same rate.[DOUBLEPOST=1453288545][/DOUBLEPOST]

I agree. I expect him to retire if anything.

But i do think we have huge attitude problems both in batsman and bowlers though! Something outside of their respective skills and ability!

We really fked ourselves here, when you need 72 off 75, then why the fk you need to give a gift to the point fielder and the score a mamoth 46 - 9 in the remaining overs. Rather bring ALi Bubere, the 17 year old kid who bowls left arm fast and bats a bit for his school.

I repeat once back in India, the team to go with for Asia Cup and World T20 -

Rahane
Rohit
Kohli
Yuvi
Raina
MSD
Jadeja
Rishi Dhawan
Aswhin
Harbhajan/Mishra
Nehra (Any one who is not Ishant, Umesh, Bhuvi)

The real question is why does our team have a lot of idiots? Ishant and Yadav are essentially idiots and they showed that really well in this game. It's a shame that only a few people in our team are actually performing and doing their job but we are still losing games because of people not playing for their country who are also in the team.

I know this seems like the batsmen are to blame but would it now have helped to now have 350 to chase to begin with.

yup this 100X, adds nothing to the team keeps learning perpetually over the course of 10 yrs and then retires! im sure if we use younger kids we will have a good team by 5 yrs

plus ishants fielding and umesh playing joker with the bat im sure we can have something better!

Sad to see bhuvi in the list a year ago i would have never given up on bhuvi but now looks like another irfan who lost swing !

I know this seems like the batsmen are to blame

they are, dont get me wrong they played really well but we started loosing the game the moment they were caught in their hundreds, im not someone to use that comment lightly, but with our batsman especially kohli and dhwan 100 seems to be a huge milestone for them they just put too much energy to it, and then play nonsense shots, kohli did slow and started look for 100 in the last two games, then dhwan after hundred it desnt matter to him that they have 70 more to get at a run a ball but instead went after literally everyball just because he was past hundred, especially when you are chasing if you are set you see it through!

when you are batting first when you have to go for runs these guys slow down for a hundred, when you are chasing when you have to see it through after a hundred they lob half volleys into the hands of fielders!

Some how doing what is not good for the team and something that helps yourself !

there is something certainly wrong there!

This is all what you got as far as bowlers are concerned.... I mean India never had talented bowling line-up relative to other teams. Some came but became the victim of fame and totally lost it, one example is Irfan Pathan. I don't think so BCCI can do much work on the bowling department other than to pray that some natural talent rises. India's strength has always been strong batting line-up, I think they need to channelize their batsmen mindset against big teams particularly Gaints like Australia and South Africa.

Even a legend like Wasim Akram can't do anything in coaching fast bowlers if there is no talent and hardwork from them...

Irfan was not a victim of Fame, but someone called Greg Chappel. He suddenly wanted Irfan to develop an outswinger, become a batsman and probably an astronaut, and bascially ruined him completely.

Shikhar Dhawan is the fastest India, and 3rd fastest ever to get to 3000 runs in ODIs (in 72 games). I mean isn't he always out of form, when the hell did he score all those runs.
