India's tour of Australia - January 2016

WTH ? Seriously out of words. That's some foolish batting in the end. This is where, we miss Raina. No maturity among any lower order batsmen. If you can't score 75 from 75 with 9 wickets in hand in a batting pitch, honestly it's lack-of-skill. No one in the lower order contributed. And MSD gone for 0. Seriously, he should quit captaincy. He hasn't even performed well.(Only talking about his batting performance. He is still the best wkt-keeper in the world)
I feel that Rishi and Mann shouldn't have debuted in an overseas match. They should have been given a chance in Indian soil first. We need BIG changes in the team. And someone get a coach for the team. Apart from top-order, nothing is there to be proud in the Indian team.

@Rehan_24 I don't agree with your statement "Even a legend like Wasim Akram can't do anything in coaching fast bowlers if there is no talent and hardwork from them". Talents are lying around. See the domestic performance from players. Even Rishi Dhawan is an amzing guy. Without fine tuning the skills by a coach, he will remain the same. There will be no room for improvising. With proper coaching Irfan could have done better. He was one of the victim of a bad coach. And that's the only solution. If a coach is not provided, how will you make changes in the bowling side ? You can't play with the same bowlers always. You need some enhancement. Talent is recognized by a coach. Many players made cameo appearance. Without a coach, it will be difficult to move on. BCCI should appoint a coach. Obviously, it will make a difference.

Look how well Afghans are doing after Inzi was appointed as a batting coach.

Exactly that's my point is Coach can only do fine tuning and to a extent to it, rest the natural talent and immense hard work is required from a bowler especially a Fast Bowler. If there is a bowling talent in India, I hope it will come out some day, But I have clearly remembered Pathan, Srishant and even Zaheer Khan that how badly they were over-hyped by the media and ESPN Starsports commentators, and look their fate is.. with the exception of Zaheer, He survived though and was a good committed bowler. I don't think so that Greg Chappel was the only reason of Pathan's debacle. Can't put whole onus on him.

I would support Nehra back in the team. An experienced and proven bowler is necessary there in Indian lineup to guide the younger lot. Even Harbhajan should be there for sometime

Harbhajan and Nehra will not be playing next world cup (One day cup). So, it's no use to bring them back to one day side. Any team needs a good teacher. Hell, even batman needed a coach. Look how good he turned into :p
Anyway, the only option according to me right now is to bring a coach. Otherwise same bowlers, same techniques if they have any and same result. Even battins looks bad if you take out Kohli, Rahane and Rohit. Dhawan looked good from last two games and I hope he continues with it. Dhoni needs to rediscover his lost charm in captaincy and his batting performance.

Aakash Chopra- If India had prepared such pitches, the entire world and its cousins would've blamed India for killing ODI cricket. [HASHTAG]#Just[/HASHTAG] saying

I don't think even Afghanistan would have lost this game when we had a run a ball chase with 9 wickets.

Just let me know if there is any cricket trials upcoming, I am sure i will do a better job than this bunch of idiots.

You mean Bradman?

We really fked ourselves here, when you need 72 off 75, then why the fk you need to give a gift to the point fielder and the score a mamoth 46 - 9 in the remaining overs. Rather bring ALi Bubere, the 17 year old kid who bowls left arm fast and bats a bit for his school.

Will keep an eye out for him.

BTW in the U-19 I urge everyone to follow Sarfaraz Khan, the kid is going to be a regular in the limited overs side for long. Can bowl spin and hit the ball a gazillion miles.

^ Sarfaraz, Ricky Bhui and Ishan who is in the Dhoni mould - is from Jharkhand and is a keeper.

Ricky Bhui especially is one to look out for. He is just 19 but already has 2 Ranji 100s to his name, and scored a limited overs ton on his Vijay Hazare debut against Goa.

The question to be asked is: Can we really blame our bowlers for this ? Both sides raked up 300+ runs in almost every game. Should we blame the bowlers or should we feel sorry for them, because those wickets were as flat as they come.

It seems like the bigger issue is the disappointing middle and lower middle order. First three games, we were clearly short by 20-30 runs. And this game we lost by 30 runs or so despite dominating for 2/3rds of the match. I was supporting dropping Raina, but I am sure he would have come good in atleast one of the 4 games

Another good performance by India today I see. How on earth did they cock this one up. Looking forward to the highlights.

Irfan was not a victim of Fame, but someone called Greg Chappel. He suddenly wanted Irfan to develop an outswinger, become a batsman and probably an astronaut, and bascially ruined him completely.

Let's not put all blame on Greh Chappell for the Irfan predicament. Greg pushed Irfan out of his comfort zone to achieve big. Irfan just didn't have it in him to achieve that. In that process, he fell away. I might blame Greg for many other things but not this one.

India seriously need to look for "flat track bowlers". If we face a flat track, we bowl worse than any other team in the world. And we did not become a bad fielding side overnight. Very recently, we were being hailed for our stupendous change in fielding standards. If we have fielded badly this tournament, its the environment that's causing the issue. In such a scenario, the team management (including captain) need to be blamed. Kumar has lost a lot of bite after that injury that he had. Yet another case of a good bowler withering away quickly. Hope some of our greats (like Dravid, Ganguly, Kumble, Sachin, Laxman) can come up with solutions to address this perennial bowling problem.

Well I disagree, when there is a guy who has learnt the art of inswinging to RHB, why push him to do something less. His natural trajectory would anyway take the ball across the RBH, and would offer a good variation. Its okay to learn new things, but you never make a guy lose his stock ball. Chappel forced him to go for the outswing, comepletely destroyed Irfan's natural wrist posistion, that enabled him to swing the ball in late to the RHB, and leave the LHB.

In any case was there really the need to push a guy hard enough to break him, that too a guy who could do this -

That swing, that too in the sub-continent, and that moron Chappel broke him :facepalm Just picture him and Zaheer bowling in tandem for the next decade ... [HASHTAG]#fkgregchappel[/HASHTAG]

Tbh, both Australian bowlers and Indian bowlers have conceded runs. Main reason for Australian success is their batting while our batting depends only upon top order. Aussies speed up the game unlike us after 40+ over. We really need to find a solution for this. Our bowlers were like this from so many series. Obviously they need to improve too, but the middle order batting is main concern as India depend upon batsmen to win the games and we are not winning because the middle order has been a flop show.
