India's tour of Australia - January 2016

Finally .. finally ..

What a knock by Pandey. And that boundary was so brilliant - he knew Marsh would bowl wide outside off and just set himself up for that shot. And such thinking under immense pressure is impressive

Well done Pandey, he will be in the ODI side for a while to come. Australia's record breaking streak ends at 18, should have been 17 really, but I think India will be take this. Dhoni left it late, too late I would say, but that Six sort of redeemed him. However the signs were still there the Dhoni chapter is coming to a close. Dhoni is no longer the finisher he was, and needs to find another role for himself, or make way.

Overall India will look at the bowlers, and they have no delivered. There is no point in saying that Australia were just as bad. India's frontline pace attack should be doing much much better, than Australia's fourth string bowlers.

The batting has come good consistantly away from home, and while these were flat tracks, India will take the positives from it. Australia by far the deserving winners, and even India's bowling, full of woes though it was, may just have found a new star in Bumrah.

T20s next, and there are big short term implications for that series, with the World T20 coming up.

Top knock from Pandey, MSD may have been scratchy at best , but still got that final over 6 though even that he didnt meddle it well and with pandey somehow we made it over the line!

Rohit played well but that 99 won us the game, :p Pandey did great there, Bumrah was exceptional. A good win!

Good that he scored 99..india has a bad record against australia when he scores 100:p:p

Looking forward to Rohit 0, Dhawan 2, Kohli 1 so that we can lose this game quite easily and award Australia a whitewash!
This worked for us, isn't it?

Yes! Pandey showed what he is capable of. I always thought he should be in the squad (in this series of course). I am pretty sure he could have won the game for us in the last match if he was in place of Mann. And now when he got the chance, he proved it.
Bumrah was exceptional. He saved 20 odd runs. Rohit and dhawan were brilliant again.
Even though it's pretty harsh, I think Mann would be dropped in the next series and Dhawan might get a chance.
Even though series result says 1-4, the performance was way better than that. We gave a nice fight. Looking forward for T20I and eager to see yuvi and Nehra. I am positive about the T20 series.

Agreed.
Good that he scored 99..india has a bad record against australia when he scores 100:p:p
Criticising a world class batsman with the unbeatable record is good. He is a class player. Its not his individual fault. They lost the matches due to lack of middle order/ finishers.

^ I am pretty sure he was joking.

And who would have thought the only century in the winning cause in this series would be of Manish's ? Wow. Great display.

You mean to say?

You mean to say?
When he said that "Good that he scored 99..india has a bad record against australia when he scores 100:p:p", he probably was joking and didn't mean that it was good for Rohit to miss out on hundred. And I said "^ I am pretty sure he was joking" because, I though you took him seriously. Nothing else.

Do you really think that I was Serious? :lol

Looking forward for the T20Is.

My XI:
:ind: :bat: Rohit Sharma
:ind: :bat: Shikhar Dhawan
:ind: :bat: Virat Kohli
:ind: :ar: Suresh Raina/Hardik Pandya
:ind: :ar: Yuvraj Singh/Hardik Pandya
:ind: :wkb: MS Dhoni :c:
:ind: :ar: Ravindra Jadeja/Hardik Pandya
:ind: :ar: R Ashwin/Hardik Pandya
:ind: :ar: Rishi Dhawan
:ind: :bwl: Ishant Sharma
:ind: :bwl: Jasprit Bumrah

I think Pandya will be played but not sure in place of whom, so had him in some places but think he'll be over Ash/Jaddu at 6 or 7.

My XI

:ind::bat: Rohit Sharma
:ind::bat: Shikhar Dhawan / Ajinkya Rahane
:ind::bat: Virat Kohli
:ind::ar: Yuvraj Singh
:ind::bat: Suresh Raina
:ind::wkb: MS Dhoni :c:
:ind::ar: Ravindra Jadeja/ :ar: Hardik Pandya
:ind::ar: R Ashwin
:ind::ar: Rishi Dhawan / :ar: Harbhajan Singh / :bwl: Ashish Nehra
:ind::bwl: Ishant Sharma / Ashish Nehra
:ind::bwl: Jasprit Bumrah

H.Singh can really bowl very economically in T20 which is very important. And if Bhajji is included, no need of jaddu. And Ashwin is a must. He should not be dropped. And, I feel Jinx would be good as an opener assuming he is fit. But, Shikhar batted really well in last two ODIs and I don't thin he will be dropped anyway.

Really looking forward to see Yuvi. I pray that he does well.
