India's tour of West Indies June 2011

Well Harbhajan is a better bowler than Ashwin anyday, I won't drop him from the team for Ashwin.
Sorry but I disagree. I know that Harbhajan has done wonders in the past, but he seems to have lost his touch in the recent times. Since the past few months he hasn't been picking up wickets and has always said that at times, its more important to restrict the flow of runs. The fact is that now he isn't even able to slow down the pace of the runs.

The more I watch Harbhajan, the more I dislike him (in the recent times), and the more I watch Ashwin, the more I like him.

On current form and seeing the way both these players have changed in recent times, I would easily pick Ashwin over Harbhajan anyday. Ashwin attacks more often than he defends, Ashwin doesnt flinch when he is getting hit and continues to attack while varying his stuff, Ashwin has lot of different variations. Harbhajan falls short of Ashwin in all these 3 departments. Harbhajan bowls lot of darts at leg stump and tries to keep runs down more than pick wickets, when Harbhajan is getting hit, his body language visibly goes down drastically, Harbhajan doesnt bowl his doosra as much these days while he has only a few variations than Ashwin. He is currently living on reputation, and vice captaincy tag is surely helping him stay ahead of Ashwin.

Well WI was the place in 2002 where for the first time , kumble was dropped for Harbhajan. May be after 9 years, harbhajan would be dropped for Ashwin/Mishra.

Excellent performance by Kohli once again. He is the next big thing in International cricket. He's going to take the cricketing world by storm and just dominate for years. He's only 22 too. There are many players who get off to great starts in their careers but Kohli has that something extra special, that spark that doesn't reflect in statistics, but when you actually watch him bat. He's elegant, can shift gears, can handle bounce, confident and most importantly, consistent. He's got future captain written all over him too. I followed the Indian team fairly closely when he was captain of the U19 team and he has great leadership skills.

Now if only we could find a (fast) bowler of similar quality.

If Kohli can give up some of his high handed attitude, he will shine further for India in his career. In India, players with brash and hyper aggressive attitude have always faced problems (e.g. Yuvraj Singh, Saurav Ganguly, Sreesanth, etc). If Kohli wants to last long and aim for that legendary status, he should give up some of that attitude pretty soon before the media doesnt let him be so.

Good knock from Parthiv Patel. More of such knocks will permanently establish as India's best second wicketkeeper (after Dhoni).

I do agree that Harbhajan has lost his good form and now he's nothing as a spinner.

We defeat them comprehensively. Kohli is indeed a classic player and he has proved it yet again. Parthiv was also good. Mishra's and Munaf's bowling was out-standing.

Bright future for India. :p Our youngsters are great.

Kohli continues to impress. I have always rated him as one of best upcoming batting talent in world cricket.

Regarding the harbhajan-ashwin debate,
Harbhajan is a class act,Class acts need to be supported, Class is permanent and Form is temporary, He won us the semi final against pakistan with two important breakthroughs,People also doubted yuvraj"s place in the ODI squad during the World Cup, He came up with flying colors,Plus you people cant forget the quickfire 20-30 that Bhajji scores
Ashwin is good, But he is not as good as people perceive him to be,
and also dosent help him that he is an offie

He is as good as people perceive him to be. Right now, he has more variations than Harbhajan. And more importantly, he keeps a cool head and hunts batsmen down even after he gets the stick from them a few times. Do that with Harbhajan, and he can be tied down. Harbhajan needs a big wicket and a big celebration to turn himself on, Ashwin doesnt need that.

Ashwin is very much like Badrinath. The guy needs a consistent run in the team before he can prove himself to be a better bowler than Harbhajan Singh.

Well I don't agree that Ashwin is a better bowler then Bhajji in any format barring T20. Harbhajan always seems to do the work for India, and with all his experience behind him, he is India's best spinner any day.

Ashwin does have variations and is surely a future prospect, but in now way he is better than Bhajji.

Harbhajan may be out of form. Ashwin may be better bowler on current form but he won't wrap SA batting lineup and take last wicket when 3 overs are spare to draw. Harbhajan was out of form with lot of criticism coming into that match as well.

My point is experience comes play on tense situations not form.

Regarding celebrations,
Ashwin is no less than Bhajji, I still remember the ipl finals and the playoffs, His sendoff"s to agarwal and Gayle(some commentator also said the same thing)
And Agression is Bhajji"s key to success,
Ashwin is better in t20 but no where in ODI"s
