India's tour of West Indies June 2011

Finally Rohit Sharma is converting his talent into runs. But still a disappointing performance from India, first letting them score 225 after putting them down at 96/7 and then losing so many wickets early on unnecessarily.

This is a second string Indian side (we are not playing Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Zaheer). So I would rather applaud the way they started off the match and the way they came back after being down at 92-6. Rohit Sharma is finally showing real fight to grab his chances.

Two failures there by Badri (he didnt bat in the 2nd ODI). Not helping himself at all. Hope Yusuf fails in the next two games too so that the selectors can think of dropping him for the ODI's in England. Parthiv has been very impressive at the top. Lot of positives for India from this tour.

Yeah I thought that guy was meant to be an all-rounder... lot of talent on show there, but I don't know how they could "rest" Rampaul and Bravo; the team is thin enough as it is. Well, I don't know about half of what they're doing to be fair, but this is starting to border on deliberate self-sabotage.

What an innings by Rohit, just awesome and classy.
From the first ball of his innings, he looked determined and he has that class too. If he will be nurtured well, he'll surely become one of the greats.
And Bhajji is awesome.:D

Rohit has a thing for Raina being captain. He scored two hundreds in that Zimbabwe ODI series when Raina captained last time in an international tour. And here, he is again showing his true potential under Raina's captaincy.:D But he has to learn to show the same thing under Dhoni for Dhoni is India's best ever captain and there is no way he will move his butt from India captaincy anytime soon.

It's not the Raina factore, there is something common between two series, you know what I mean. Rohit has yet to prove with strong teams.

BTW Rohit averages infinity this series. He is yet to get out. That's really good performance.

Today's knock was the kind that could have come against any side. In this game, WI were truly on top with their bowling effort having put us down to 92-6. I thought "this is finally the game that WI will win on this tour" but the way Rohit fought with our "we can battle out" tail enders like Harbhajan and Praveen, this is a special innings from him. Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, one should say. Hope he continues in the same vein. Once Yuvraj and Dhoni return, Rohit is the guy who has the best chance of keeping his place, thereby pushing Yusuf and Badri out.

I cannot believe that we won yesterday, amazing stuff. We needed what, 136 runs to win with 4 wickets in hand and we still managed to win. WOW, this is called amazing stuff. Rohit Sharma proved why he is called a great talent and a player to look out for in the next 10 years.

Its time Tiwary is given a chance instead of Badrinath. Badrinath has talent, But I dont think he is converting them into runs at the One day level,
Manoj tiwary should atleast be given a chance, he is as good as badrinath in the field if not better, and should atleast be tried

And regarding Yusuf, He is not going to get dropped for Badrinath, Cuz he gives 4-5 overs for not to many and takes odd wickets too. And India already has a player like Badrinath (Kohli in the XI) Both dont go hammer and tongs

Tiwary, Ishant,Saha,Vinay Kumar,Ashwin all going to get their chances. Raina and Fletcher should be smart enough now and replace Dhawan with either Saha or Tiwary to open the innings.

Harbhajan should rest as well as Praveen. We need them for the test series and Ashwin and Ishant or Kumar can play.

Also they should keep in mind a 5-0 victory ;)

This series has officially become a farce now. Windies not picking their best team for stupid political reasons & India's best players skipping the tests for for injuries etc.

So that potential clash with the Windies pace attack vs the much vaunted Indian top 7 in Jamaica & Bridgetown test wont be seen.

Yes it is a second string side but they had them on floors at 92/7. Raina's decision to bowl out Mishra by 30th over was a bit odd, that meant part timers were gonna bowl between 30th and 45th over, and it did cost India in Raina's last over where he gave away 20+ runs. Also apart from Kohli's wicket the top 5 wickets were gifted, they were trying too many shots unnecessarily.

I think with Raina, Kohli and Rohit bowling 10 overs together we can do away with Yusuf and have a proper batsman at number 7. His bowling has been crap and he has gotten away with it many times. I would like to see Tiwary, Ishant and Ashwin come in for Yusuf, Praveen and Harbhajan.
