I think he can play there too if he bats a bit more sensibly. The good thing for him is that straight after this series India is going to England. No more stupid ODI/T20 in between. So after 3 test matches here, he would have accustomed to leaving the good balls and playing proper cricket shots only.
I also believe that India should give Yuvraj one last try at Test cricket. He didnt do too badly last time he played. And his confidence would be high after the WC. He did showed immense maturity.

No, JUST NO!!!! There are so many better and more deserving players who have to make their test debuts and Yuvraj should not be anywhere near the test team this year. Pujara must be back for the England series, if Kohli does well, he must be retained for the England series, Rohit Sharma deserves a crack at the tests after his good show in the ODI series, Badrinath deserves to remain in the hunt for that test spot (due to his great showing in domestic first class cricket). So no spot ideally for Yuvraj in tests unless the selectors consider his highly hyped reputation built around ODI and T20 cricket.

It is not a good time to make a debut in a foreign soil, check for example player like Murali vijay wasting his chances, it is always best to cash in on yuvraj than them. Pujara has been known for his stay like dravid. But for Rohit sharma, he can only come when the stupendous indian senior get on retirement or due to injury wooes. Badrinath is a real taste in test cricket, becoz he plays an 50 over ODI due to his experience in Test scenario. Really needed to see a good all rounder in the squad

roach out due to politics.
Nah, his performances have been pretty bad this season. Especially given a plethora of helpful wickets. With Edwards coming into the side, I think he was probably the right bowler to leave out; the others have delivered.

He definitely doesn't get the ball on a decent attacking length often enough and perhaps also needs to improve technically, such as being able to move the ball to away from right handers more. That might also provide confidence to pitch the ball up. He's a fairly short bowler, so he can't simply expect to dig the ball in and work with bounce off a full length unless it's a bumping sort of a pitch.

Praveen's Debut

Praveen has really performed well in the 1st innigs of the first test. He is a shining test career with his in and out swinger. His figures 3-58. Ishant amit Mishra and Harbhajan also supported him well.:)
India's second innings not a good start: 91/3 Stumps day-2 Dravid 45* and Kohli 14*.:(

Praveen performed well because he was bowling to perhaps the weakest batting line up in test cricket. His 75 MPH outswingers are not going to worry better batsmen. He is not a test standard bowler by any stretch of imagination and is just filling the gap of Zaheer khan.

Yup, Bowling 90 miles per hour without any movement and at poor line-length doesnt get wickets. Sheer pace hardly affects or worry great batsmen if there is no swing or its too short.
PK got the basics right and hence rewards :clap

I would love Praveen to bowl Pieterson out in England series. Just for the sheer rhyming :p
KP bowled PK :lol

I'm loving the way Raina is playing in this Test match. He might not have a technique as good as Kohli for Test level but he's playing with determination. :clap
