India's tour of West Indies June 2011

I'm guessing Dravid will retire after the England series. He's going to be hard to replace. So would crisis maestro Laxman. Tendulkar ofcourse would still be batting after his grandchildren have retired.

Sammy as captain this series has been really good. He has performed with bowl and that is what is more expected from him as he has taken bowlers place in the side.

Mishra's inning in that partnership have just given India a nod as a 250 run target with 2 days and 1 session left West Indies could win bbut niw its an uphill now.

Dravid won't retire after the England series, he will play the tour down under for sure. I see him being picked for home West Indies series for ODI where he will announce his retirement from ODI. He will play another 2 to 3 away tour.

What I feel is Laxman has a lot of cricket in him and he should be regular in test. Draavid and Sachin should skip all the home test series and give the youngstars a chance, by doing that we could safely press the transition button

I disagree. That would be detremental to all concerned. The youngsters would develop into medicore batsmen who only perform in home conditions, and the Indian crowd would miss out in the last few years of their heroes.

Have I missed something? Last time I checked, the BCCI were adamant as ever.

I think the ICC meets before the Eng-Ind series starts. In that meeting they could potentially order DRS to be rolled out for every series - no exceptions. That would be great to see happen, not particularly because of DRS but just to show the ICC isn't scared of BCCI.

Anyway...getting back to the game...it's now stumps and it looks like it could be an interesting day tomorrow, especially if Shiv and Bravo get through the first hour. 195 to get with 7 wickets in hand - that's certainly doable. Perhaps not likely given the match so far, but WI should be pretty pleased they're in this position.

Good fight being shown by Windies and Indians must be worried with the lack of temperament with most of their new batsmen. Kohli should have converted his start to a better innings. I am surprised at the relative ease, Windies batsmen have been with Indian Spin twins. Its Ishant and surprisingly Kumar that have tested them. Indian Spinners will have their say on tomorrow's proceeding though. I see India winning by 50 runs.

Wow, this is interesting, today's first hour or so is very crucial.
Given how the test proceeded till now, it looks like it would be difficult for WI but 195 is getable.

If Indian Bowling goes good today, it will easy to win and finish the game today. The pitch of day four will be hard to chase on.

Ottis Gibson is really angry with the pitch and the curator. It has been a low scoring test match.
While the pitch has been a nightmare for the batsmen , the exception is Rahul Dravid who favours slow pitches . When he sees pitches like these his experience tells him to play as slowly and patiently as possible. As a result he is the only batsman who has succeeded on such a pitch. 112(274)

Harbhajan has got a mine-field of a pitch and he is still struggling to take wickets on it. He is just trying to be economical, he isn't trying to take wickets. Although I'm quite happy how our pacers have done, didn't expect them do much in this test but they've surprised me. I don't think WI can chase this or probably even reach 250. They'd need a Chanderpaul special for that to happen.

Where? From what I read it was exactly the sort of pitch Ottis Gibson wanted before the match, so not sure he can be pissed about it.

wish i could watch this match, seems a decent watch but the time zones prevent that.

hope it goes down to the wire, but for that to happen chanderpaul and bravo will have to do the bulk of the scoring.
