There is a thread which specifies the best captian.
I thought,we'd rather like to know the worst. There are only two main candidates
*Rahul Dravid
*Sachin Tendulkar

Please vote on the poll

I dont think Tendulkar did anything special as a captain. Dravid, though not the best person one can picture for the role, did have a decent number of good games under his belt.

But neither of them were anywhere near Saurav Ganguly, in terms of leadership qualities.

Wasn't Dravid the best captain in the world last year?

Well,he was.
I'm aware of that.
However a few people do not think too highly of him,the way he relinquished his captaincy. Also,he became the first captain after M.Azharuddin[1992]and S.Venkatraghvan[1975 n1979] to lead to India's first round exit.

It's not the captains fault that his team was not good enough to make it to the super 8 stage of the world cup.

Well, the captain takes certain decisons-he was spineless.
Infact, the Indian team was led by Greg Chappell and not Rahul Dravid.

Look at some of his decision post the World Cup and even in the World Cup.
He was spineless and couldnt enforce a follow on in Enlgnad when India could have won the match.
Other things-ODI's versus England, stupid toss decisions which cost India the match.

He's up there coz i want ppl to vote.
However,i do feel that he was better than S.Tendulkar.

Tendulkar gets my vote :) But he was having a poor team when he was leading as the captain. I still remember the series in Australia where he alone would be fighting in one end and in other end, wickets after wickets. MSK Prasad opened in that test series  Hopeless squad with India during that period.

Also, later, Tendulkar himself have realised that he is not eligible for captain job which was very obvious from his repeated denials to take the captaincy again. Its understandable that you can't force a person to do a thing in which he is very uncomfortable with. And Sachin was the one who spotted Sourav to take the captaincy if i remember right. Only achievement as far as i remember is, the Titan Cup.

Yes, I remember the Titan Cup. India had to beat Australia to get into the final, and ended up winning it by beating the Saffers (who i think hadnt lost a game in that series before). Definately the only highlight for Tendulkar as captain.

The Titan Cup was Tendulakr's kitty ?
I was of the opinion that it wa sM.Azharuddin who was the captian then.

Then why is Dravid up there as worst captain if Chappell lead the team?;)
Regardless, he shouldn't, Dravid's tenure as captain was rather successful. I think what people don't like about Dravid's captaincy is more or less what defines his batting. Everything by the book, no silly mistakes, but only seldom any flair. I guess you could call him a calming influence and looking at a team that got past a period where they needed that and now clearly has passion to progress, in hindsight Dhoni's appointment is best described as appropriate for the start of a new era.

In terms of the length of stay, Tendulkar was probably the least effective captain, he was given a long time and really struggled for results. If he was not Sachin Tendulkar, he'd have been given about one third of the time as captain and it'd be someone else who is most often described as the worst.

Wrong dude even Ganguly couldn't win the World Cup for India.

I think Dhoni is the best Captain.

sachin tendulkar is worst captain..thanx god..he wasnt re appointed as a captain after dravid resigned..i hope dhoni will become the test captain too...he is a quick learner...so he will become better captain..
