if sachin becomes test captain..it shows bcci is full of poltics..this thread clearly shows..y he shudnt be the test captain

Why is Dravid in the list? IMO Rahul Dravid is a reall good captain guy.

Dravid had his moments in captaincy... when india had 17 record consecutive chases, the india-england test series this year, etc. but he couldnt make things happen, he wasnt pro-active and when the situation got tough, he wasnt equipped to deal with the situation well (ganguly would try unconventional things to get out of such situations and would take risks).

sachin was the worst captain. he put too much pressure on himself and he thought that he was the only guy who had to win every match for india. this was said by javagal srinath too in an interview. sachin expected too much from every player in the team, and was disappointed very often becoz not often can he get what he expects.

well for me dravid will be the worst for the best i will go for ganguly he was agressive and we atleast made it to final of 2003

dravid in the list coz he cudnt lead his team properly in the worldcup...but they dont realize..it was senior players like ganguly sachin n sehwag..who made dravid captincy tougher wit their politics

Well you can't blame one guy for the whole team, it's not fair. Dravid is a really good capatian. If India would have won the World Cup the people would have been like "Greatest capatin" etcc... etcc... Indian team as whole played poor.

We lost WC99 final - Wasim Akram (c)

I still love wasim.

Yeah that is there usy.
But,i think you know how attached the subcontinent is towards cricket.

To get knocked out of a World Cup,well i don't think any Indian/Pakistani captain survived after that.

1992-Mohd.Azharuddin[exception]
2003-Waqar Younis[sacked]
2007-Inzimam-ul-Haq and Rahul Dravid[sacked & resigned]

yea...bcci knows dravid isnt bad captain..so they asked him to continue
he won us a test series in westindies and england..even saruv cudnt do it in his
captincy ..but dravid is a softie..so everyone blames him...

In the 1990's,leaving out Sachin, all other Indian captains were good.
This also includes Ajay Jadeja.

Sachin is not a bad captain. When he was given the responibility, he was the best batsman in the world, at his very best and pressure took on him.

The most negative captain we've had was Sunil Gavaskar, whose intentions were to draw the match..more than anything else.

Sachin tried to lead from the front, did score some memorable knocks (169 against SA, 100s against Aus and other countries), but @ that stage, it'll be difficult...to lead a mediocre team (especially the bowling attack)

I also agree that the team which was there, when Tendulkar lead from the front, was crap. " MSK Prasad opened in Australia in Test series! " is the one which i can't forget for ever. Tendulkar will be battling from end, and rest of the team will be playing like something in other end. :p

Anyways, as I said, he is not comfortable with captaincy which he himself have said. So there is no sense to give this job to him who is not willing to do.

I only hope, his Personal form doesn't go bad because of this. :upray:upray:upray

@cricket_lover : Btw, I am seeing you after long time. You missed some India series i guess.

.

since 1999 we had so many wicket keepers who were selected to play for india
saba karim,sameer dighe,nayan mongia,ajay ratra,deepdas gupta,parthiv patel
dinesh karthik, dhoni,Vijay Dahiya ..in these wicket keepers..most of them were asked to open the innings...

I agree with that.
And the interesting fatc is that all of them opened the batting and scored a century. This is barring a couple of the names mentioned above.

yea man..the thing wit indian cricket we were able to produce wicket keepers batsmen and left arm pacer..but we r not able to produce allrounders like kapil dev...
