What do you reckon they'll call the 3D vision for sponsorship purposes?
Go to hell Modi, and take the IPL with you
If he thinks this is the way to win over cricket fans, he's wrong.
The IPL should focus less on commercialising and more on providing a good contest.
I hate the IPL I honestly believe it is killing the true nature of cricket. Yes it may be extrememly entertaining but it takes away from cricket itself. I said this before T20 is not cricket at all. Just to see complete slogging and to see a batsmen praying for a six isn't what cricket is. I mean for god sakes, Pakistan is the best T20 nation in the world they made it to the finals the first time and won the T20 world cup the last time.
This is why we should get rid of this crap called the IPL, the reason I believe that Australia is such a great nation when it comes to cricket is because they will never stop producing great test cricketers. There team doesn't care about T20 all it cares about is the ODIs and the Test format of cricket, this is why MODI....get the hell outta cricket your killing us man.
Although I do hate Mr Greedy Modi and most of his silly ideas, I don't have any problem with this particular one. It is a pretty good move, tbh. If Modi can turn his IPL to some 3-D extravaganza, without making any compromises on the cricketing aspect of it, then what's the fuss about? Almost all the sports are switching to 3-D nowadays, including Football. I'll love to see Cricket following the same path.
And if Modi really implements this technology in his league, then he will actually be turning the IPL to a testing ground of 3-D, before the technology finally gets implemented in international cricket. Will this not be great?
Why not cut down on matches instead of this?
Normal cable/satellite wires will have enough bandwidth to deliver this content. Maybe not in a broader scale if lots of channels start doing it, but definitely in a one-off scale. Like I said, TNT or some other company recently broadcast a movie in 3D on their normal network channel. So it's definitely possible.Oh I read both.
It says 3D will be offered in pubs and bars as well - normally pubs and bars use the normal cable / satellite feed to my knowledge.
Therefore there may be a way for us normal people to access it.
Yep, as far as I am aware there is no way for our eyes to combine the different depths into a single image--which is why when you take your polarized glasses off in a 3D movie you will notice blurry images. Will I need to wear special glasses?
EPIC Fail attempt at slagging off the IPL.
I think that the ICC should also try and get games into 3-D as well because if the IPL can do this than the ICC should be able to do it right?
Yea totally
