IPL IPL Player Auction 2011

I seriously think Gayle's case is some conspiracy because of his attitude toward his board, but again Bravo got picked.

Wait so Mohammad Kaif gets three chances??
All teams agreed that if they wanted a re-re-auction on any player on their lists they could. Pretty pathetic, they should've just placed a bid first time around.

I think its a good pick by RCB, he is a very good fielder and if is in form a good hitter too.

Un-capped players will chose their Franchise and Franchise wont choose them

KXIP still had 2 mill. They did a real crappy job at the auction...

Pathetic auction, though I am quite happy with the way the teams now look.
Lalit Modi, would have never allowed such an auction, it lingered on for a long long time.

My observations :
1. If the uncapped Indian players were not in the auction list, then, why were the uncapped players from Australia and England put in the auction list ?

2. English players were a bit over-priced. Its no wonder that they didnt fetch many bids. $400,000 for a few Englishmen who havent played in India,is quite high.

I can't believe people still want English players to be bought.

It isn't worth it. They won't be available for most of the tournament, and you can't trust the IPL board with the whole 3-seasons contract thing. Your team could be shut down, you could be forced to give up your players (like this season), and the IPL may not even be around for 3 more seasons. Better just to buy for the current season only IMO.

So many bizarre buys...why recall all those players only to not bid on them? What sense does this all make?

And the Aussie influence in coaches is causing Australian players to be valued more than South African or Sri Lankan ones. WI, Deshi and minnow players highly underestimated and ignored as usual.

Ganguly and Jaffer not going is surprising, since Indian squad fillers are at a premium. Their batting must have been seen as a liability.

Kartik and Kaif found a team, so that's good.
