Thought something special had happy today. A while back I created a formula by which you can go from the latest test debutant to a player in the first test by jumping through players via players they’ve played with or against in official international matches of any format.

The formula goes
Debutant
Player X
Sachin Tendulkar
John Traicos
Bill Lawry
Neil Harvey
Don Bradman
Herbie Taylor
Syd Gregory
Jack Blackham

When I found out Sean Williams didn’t play against Sachin I thought another link might have to be added until I saw Paul Stirling played one ODI against Sachin in the 2011 WC

I would rather prefer to watch Ireland, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Scotland, Netherlands play test matches compared to India, Australia, England hogging the test calendar.

So I was in Ireland in May. Our tour guide mentioned about Ireland vs Northern Ireland. This is played in Belfast which is Northern Ireland governed by UK, make this make sense? @Aislabie - Are players in Irish squad from both Ireland and Northern Ireland and they constitute the Irish team?

Yep, this team represents the island of Ireland in the same way as the rugby team

So yet again, divided by politics, united by cricket!
