Well jarryD has said that Flintoff is like Vaughan and is a one series wonder, not that Vaughan is he just did phenomenally in Australia and hasn't recpatured that form still averages 40ish anyway.

Personally i think it's a ridiculous statement by JarryD.

Any other posters feel the same?

One dodgy bowling performance, and could have had a couple wickets this morning anyway.

Edited: Took the links out as they are invalid. They are in the ICCSuperSeries thread though.

No,he isn't.He is a great player.Sometimes i wonder i if you poms don't exaggerate things a little,but there's no doubt he's a breath of fresh air.

Your right we probably do but then wouldn't an Australian if you had been as bad as we had been for so long?

He is better than his stats, because he has improved so much.

One series wonder? Far from it.

Bowling, he has averaged under 30 in every series from the 2003/04 tour to Sri Lanka onwards.

Batting average by series:

2003 v South Africa: 52.87
2003/04 v Sri Lanka: 28.83
2003/04 v West Indies: 50.00
2004 v New Zealand: 54.00
2004 v West Indies: 64.50
2004/05 v South Africa: 28.37
2005 v Australia: 40.20

Only two real faliures with the bat.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what JarryD says, he's full of crap.

And he was injured on the tour to RSA, well played through it. And batting vs Sri lanka is hardly easy.

9 overs for 66 today

Yeh but they attacked more than they used to, wasn't at his best, plus he got hit on the head the other day by a Shoaib delivery.

Good have had 3 wickets earlier on.

Both Vaughan and Flintoff are defineatly not one series wonders... well Vaughan - hes only got 15 test match centuries. And as you guys were saying Flintoff has been phenomenal in the last two years or so... so whoever said that is an idiot.

JarryD is well known for making such kind of statements. Andrew Flintoff is currently the world's number one cricketer.

Except we don't judge players base on their most recent performance. If we did, Bradman would be crap.
I'm not judging, its just suprising after all the hype

id prefer to look at it as though bradman was simply trying to give some of the other guys in the team an opportunity. he was obviously a team player. thats how i base my cricket :p

he seems to be making quite a lot of those types of statements lately.

Freddie is awesome and has played extremley well with bat and ball. He's England's most important player batting at six and coming on first change.

He's been our best bowler in the last 18 months as well!

Wait for a few more season before making this comment. ODI cricket is a whole different game to Test. Test cricket is the ultimate test for a bowler thus Flintoff's form can't be judged by his performance in ODIs.
