Is this game really as bad as I am reading ?

Is this game worth getting or not ?
I used to play all the old cricket games like Shane Warne and Brian Lara Cricket.
I am only interested in test cricket and a little bit of one day cricket. No interest whatsoever in 20/20 which as far as i'm concerned is baseball with a few added extras.
So are tests on this game challenging, realistic etc ?
By realistic i mean run rates, field placings, scores, shots etc etc
They don't try and flick balls wide outside off to the leg side like they have a problem ?
Are wickets taken by skill and plans or the usual flukes, unrealistic decisions by the ai ?

Re: Test matches, I just played a test for AUS against SA in my career. We got rolled for 170odd or something in the first (I scored a 50), bowled them out for like 104, then we scored 220odd in our second dig (I got a 120odd), then they chase 400 in their second innings and win by 7 wickets! Go for DBC14 instead. It's easily the best cricket game. Try playing on legend mode or a level below for more realistic feel. Or else wait for the developer to release their almighty patch for DBC17 and see if it makes the game more playable and fun.

If you set the inner fielders back you can have good test matches. A number of things are in need of fixing and patching and as we speak are being done. I think the game actually has a very good longer format.

I haven't played it since January mainly because of the field settings problems. Broken game for me at the moment.

I think the game is not that bad like people tend to write about it. There are definitely some flaws which are being worked on by the developers and they have pretty good track record of keeping their games in good shape.

My opinion is the omission of other facts misrepresents the status of the product. Singling out an issue, which has been acknowledged as being worked on is, hardly an accurate nor fair representation of the game given all of the information available, and just continues to show you're interested in nothing but being negative.

And my fact is completely warranted to be brought up to somebody interested in knowing about the game. I suggested that person make their own mind up.

Are people not allowed to mention faults in this game? I said nothing wrong yet you're suggesting buying a defective on the hope it's fixed in 4 weeks.

please read well. DBC14 is a better game, period. it certainly raised up gameplay standards. if you are so happy with dbc17, you can tell new buyers to buy it. New patch has been promised & i certainly hope it sorts out most of the issues. meanwhile DBC17 is not worth it.

In my opinion, DBC17 is a better game, and is worth it. I've derived significantly more enjoyment out of DBC17 than I did DBC14. Quote me on that.

DBC14 is better in your opinion. To each their own.
