James Anderson

He was brought in to the test team too early. He had very little experience playing for Lancashire at county level before being brought into the England team for the One dayers in Australia and because he performed so well in difficult conditions, he was brought into the test squad against Zimbabwe and had a decent series but then struggled against South Africa and hasnt been much of a regular since. This season has been good for him and for England as he has been sent to play a full season for Lancashire and has finished their top wicket taker with 56 (dont know if the stats have been updated for the games just played) But still he has been included for the Pakistan tour and should he get his chance over their I hope he takes it because he has a lot of talent and ability to become as you said better than Harmison and Jones.

Can't compare him to Harmison, Harmison has the most extreme bounce in the game, not a swing bowler like Jimmy although he can swing it.

It was so long ago since he played against Aus in Aus. From the sounds of that article it looks like he is getting back into some type of form.

This time round there won't be much expectation like there was when he was first in the team.

He has more experience, and has played with some more experienced cricketers too. Symonds, Law, Loye, Murali, etc.

Jimmy needs to go and learn how to bowl at an international standard, come back when he's 25/6 and have a great test career :D

Did Anderson miss the Ashes series due to a death in the family, or was it sickness..?
I'm sure he would have been in the squad if not for that.

In 2002/03 he wasn't in the squad, but he was scheduled to be added for the last two tests, but did have a death in his family.

Similar type of bowler in that sense to Brett Lee. Although i'd say overall more economical.

maybe but is anderson better than simon jones or hoggard?i don think so..so theres no place 4 him.

But with Jones injured, Tremlett maybe not making the trip and not much else in reserve, who else do you play (not inc. spinners)?

that quote is wrong, Satish said the bottom one, and cheers on the top one.

Sidebottom, done very well for Notts.
