just cannot bat in hard mode

hi everyone

I have some questions for people who are playing in hard mode.

1. straight drives. can anyone time the ball well enough to send it rocketing down the ground along the ground without using power button? its like u just cannot do it no matter what. Always end up hitting and picked up easily by midoff or mid on.

2. in general i cannot get anything out of the circle without using power button. why? i am sure in all the balls i have faced i timed some well. still it doesnt go anywhere. what happened to a well time cover drive or straight drive?

does this need to be fixed with patches or am i doing somethign wrong?

u might be doing something wrong.cuz i play pretty well in hard mode.my highest individual score is 139 and team score is 412/7.that might be pretty good in hard mode.

its all about timing. in hard mode i can now crash the balls straight back pass the bowler. only when the ball is over pitch is the best time to hit them back pass the bowler.

i on the other hand im strugglign to get a good square cut but its all aobut timing i guess

its needs to be patched -the default settings for perfectly timed shots are pathetic - get ravi's latest gameplay patch for sure

Its the one shot i do play well,try and get your conf meter up and your shots if timed will start to go,the shot i cant get is a pull shot havent hit one yet,the power button is a bit dickey,have to pick the right ball or its back to the pavillion.In my opinion thats not out,I agree Ritchie that looked out to me?????? :blink:

zimrahil does ravi's patch alter the speed with which the well timed shots go. i am not sure how you guys are crashing it past the bowler. I have hit it quite often down to long off and long on. but definitely have not crashed it. I am not sure what I am doing wrong because I have literally tried playing my straight drives at all the different possible times. None of them are perfectly timed so i am begining to wonder.

It's all about timing anand, when you get that down the game will be pretty easy.

anand - the default stroke files for the straight drive have no directional variation or power at all. All ravi has done in increase the directional area the shot will go, and has increased the power area of the stroke - this increases your chances of a well timed stroke being hit with good pace, and getting occasional boundaries.

I advise you backup your gob file, then download his gameplay patch v6.0 and see how you get on

zimrahil i have already overwritten my .gob file with the latest indian kits. now the patch does not install because i think it expects the original unaltered .gob file. is there any way to get around this? basically this means that i cannot use the patch with the modified indian kits?

Sadly, at the time of writing there is no known way around this - as you correctly state, you need an original gob file to load ravi's patch, which means all modified kits will have to be reloaded.

There is a way round this
I have spoken to Ravi and he has agreed I can release his edited configs as a series of text files. These can then be inserted into your gob by copying and pasting using the config editor.

thats great news for now i re-installed c2004 and added the patch and now the timing is much better than before. thanks a lot zimrahil.
