Well another day of Aussie dominance and it leaves me wondering who can challenge Australia?
India-Billed as our greatest threat, the team that can beat us and take it up to us. So we visited their place and played in their backyard. The result? We showed the for the pretenders they really were. They were totally outclassed in the 1st and 3rd test. They may've secured the 2nd test had rain not intefered. India aren't all that good, they are made to look good as they play so many games against minnows.
*note* 4th test does not count due to conditions being fixed.
New Zealand-We always seemed to struggle against them and I myself was wary before the test series. However, if Pidgeon can make 61 against them then may god have mercy on them all. Came over here and were absolutely gobsmacked by the champions. Another one bites the dust.
Pakistan-We are presently in the middle of belting them 3 zip in the test series and the same is expected in the One Day series. If you want proof of our dominance over them one merely has to look at Sharjah 2002 where they were bowled out twice in the once match for less than 60. Akhtar is their one good player, the rest struggle to be average.
West Indies-Still struggling, its sad to see a nation that was once so great now seen as the number 3 sport in their country. Lack the quality (bar Lara) to take it up to Australia. However they are one of their nations that when they fire (Champions trophy) can do anything.
Bangledesh-...
Zimbabwe-...
Sri Lanka-We belted them at home and away. They have a bowler who cheats and they still get belted. No good.
South Africa-They use to be our heir apparent. Now, they struggle. They lack the prestige they once had with Donald and Pollock opening the bowling. While Pollock and Ntini service them well they have no support apart from Kallis. They lack a quality batsman to go with Smith and have work to do.
England-A wildcard. Who knows what will happen come the first ashes test, we'll just have to wait and see.
