I'm at school at the moment guys so I won't be able to do an update and I am out tonight as well so the next update will be tomorrow.

Lampard resulted with the goods which happens oh so many times in real life, let alone in the game. A win is a win though and although it isn't by as many goals as you would of liked, you still got the three points. Going to the Riverside is always a pain for Chelsea for some reason so it is a positive to ge tit out of the way so early.

Hopefully your players can pick it up, get into form and do you proud. Good luck.

Yeah it looked like it was one of those days for Chelsea but Framps scored a late winner.

TEAM NEWS: CHELSEA

bolton home premier league.jpg

Chelsea play their first home match of the season today as they play host to Bolton in on of today’s three o’clock kickoffs.

Chelsea have named an unchanged side to the team that beat Middlesbrough last Sunday 1-0 at the Riverside. The Blues are yet again without new record signing Sergio Aguero who is still in Beijing with the Argentina squad. Mikel is back from an arm injury, however has to be content on the bench alongside Didier Drogba, who is doubtful to come off the bench as he’s still not manager to fully shake off his knee injury. Ivorian Salamon Kalou has come back from Olympic duty and is also on the bench.

Scolari: It's very disappointing that Aguero still hasn't returned from China however I am pleased about Kalou's return however he will be on the bench. Didier is recovering well from his knee injury however is not 100% fit so I've put him in the substitutes. I'm playing Ballack in attacking midfield again behind Nicolas Anelka as I was pleased with the German's contribution against Middlesbrough....

Aguero still not back from Beijing is a loss but at least the team should be quite gelled after playing with eachother in the last match and during training. Mikel and Drogba will no doubt not make an appearance, perhaps a cameo at the end whilst Kalou will replace Malouda in the second half. I suspect Chelsea to win this home tie against Bolton quite comfortably but Bolton can sometimes be a threat with some decent players.

Good luck.

CHELSEA 1-0 BOLTON

jcole.jpg

Joe Cole played well

Chelsea played their first home match of the season and beat Bolton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to Joe Cole’s splendid edge of the area strike.

To be honest, Chelsea were the better team from the off and dominated the match with their new found attacking flair introduced by their Brazilian World Cup winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari. This showed in the first twenty minutes with shots from Lampard, Anelka, Deco and right back Jose Bosingwa all coming agonisingly close. It seemed as if Bolton shouldn’t of bothered turning up if they weren’t going to contribute to the game however the proved many people wrong on the half hour when Wanderers’ captain Kevin Nolan forced a great save from Petr Cech and then just minutes later hit the post with a great shot from Matt Taylor struck the upright and bounced out for a goal kick. However, Chelsea were the team to take the lead when out of the blue Joe Cole swivelled round and stuck the ball perfectly in the net to make it 1-0. A brilliant effort from a very tight position on the edge of the area and a shot which was literally unstoppable.

In the second half the game continued at a boring pace, right up until the last 15 minutes or so with Bolton looking to find that vital equaliser. Ebi Smolarek came on for Wanderers, and the Polish midfielder was instantly causing chaos in the Chelsea back line. Centre-back Gary Cahill nearly grabbed a crucial goal right at the death from a Nolan cross, however it ended 1-0 to Chelsea after the four minutes of injury time.

Dominated the match and won 1-0, not really a result you'd expect. A wins a win though so you have to hand it to Joe Cole for winning them the game with a superb strike. Chelsea have been given a group they should come second or first in but Shaktar away could prove to be more difficult than expected. Group D, H and F are all going to mental groups! :D

Great presentation, mate.

No updates for a couple of days because I am going on holiday (setting off late tonight to Yorkshire). Mind you this subforum isn't very active at the moment so I don't think that you will care :p

Well I've got some good news :) I'm coming back from holiday at the weekend so expect some updates then! :)

sunderland home premier league.jpg

Chelsea face the Black Cats of Sunderland today at the Bridge, can they make it three wins out of three against Roy Keane's men??????

Record signing Sergio Aguero finally returns from the Beijing olympics and makes his debut, meaning Frenchman Nicolas Anelka concequently drops to the bench. Real Madrid target Didier Drogba is expected to return next week and the Brazilian, Alex replaces Ricardo Carvalho at centre back.

Scolari: We have been having a very good run recently and I hope that it continues. It's a big boost that Aguero is back from international duty and I can't wait to see his performance on the pitch. Aguero and Ballack have both been playing some excellent football in training and are both at the top of their games. They are pure dynamite when they link up together!!!!!

CHELSEA 0-0 SUNDERLAND

chimbonda.jpg

Chimbonda was sent off today meaning that Sunderland finished the match with ten men

Honours were even at Stamford Bridge in a match which Chelsea should of really of won.

Attack, attack, attack right from the start however although new signing Sergio Aguero was getting plenty of chances he was failing to convert them into goals. Michael Ballack again had a good game in his attack midfield role, and he made a couple of good efforts which were well saved by Scotland international Craig Gordon showing just why the Wearsiders paid so much for his services. Despite Chelsea’s flair it was Sunderland who came the closest with Kieron Richardson’s volley cannoning of the upright and David Healy’s effort being well saved by Petr Cech. So we went into half time goalless with Chelsea surely going in the most frustrated. Could Luiz Felipe Scolari possibly turn this around into a Chelsea victory?

Well unfortunately not for Chelsea as they made some changes playing three up front with Anelka, Aguero and Kalou, bringing off Michael Ballack and Alex. Chelsea pressed and pressed but to no avail as Sunderland’s defence was rock solid. There were a couple of penalty shouts from the Chelsea boys however referee Howard Webb simply waved play on to add to Chelsea’s frustration. However Chelsea’s chances of grabbing a narrow victory were boosted with the sending off of Sunderland’s defender Pascal Chimbonda. Chimbonda received his second yellow card for illegally holding back Chelsea’s Sergio Aguero. Chelsea had some last minute attempts including Frank Lampard’s stunning half volley which went just inches wide, it finished 0-0 and both sides shared the points.

A poor draw there for Chelsea. A game they really would have expected to take 3 points from! Precious points lost in this one!
