DERBYSHIRE WIN BY 42 RUNS

MAN OF THE MATCH J.MOSS

Summary:

A very dissapointing match for Kent. The bowlers bowled well but the opening batsmen and middle order let them down. Much to improve on.

Next match Frizzel Championship Division 1 Kent v Warwickshire at Canterbury

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see this is my first story. I would include pictures but don't know how to. I'll try and update at least every week and a half. Any points raised much appreciated. Hope you enjoyed it.

So far:

Kent v Warwickshire at Canterbury

Pitch is Normal and it is Sunny and Mild

Kent Batting Order

1.M.Walker
2.D.Fulton(c)
3.R.Key(vc)
4.M.van Jaarsveld
5.M.Carberry
6.A.Hall
7.G.Jones(wk)
8.J.Tredwell
9.S.Cook
10.R.Joseph
11.M.Saggers

Warwickshire Batting Order:
1.M.Wagh
2.N.Knight
3.I.Bell
4.J.Trott
5.M.Powell
6.J.Troughton
7.K.Piper
8.H.Streak
9.A.Giles
10.N.carter
11.D.Pretorious

Kent win toss and decide to bat first

Kent Scorecard so far:

M.Walker (not out) (58) (21)
D.Fulton lbw b.A.Giles (34) (5)
R.Key b.A.Giles (14) (4)
M.van Jaarsveld (not out) (14) (7)

As you can see once again Fulton is out early on by a ball that did not turn from Giles while Key was not able to do any better after his 50 last match and was bowled by a ball which pitched on leg and hit his offstump. Walker has played steadily so far and is playing Giles well (helps being left handed) while van Jaarsveld has played himself in and will begin to play more extravagent shots soon. Carberry,Hall,Jones,Tredwell and Cook can all bat so Kent are in no immediate danger however if Carberry, Hall and either van Jaarsveld or Walker go soon and cheaply Kent could be in trouble. The pitch was not turning much for the seamers and the batsmen never looked threatned by them.

Wish me luck. I'll post pics soon. I might update this evening or if not at the weekend as I have exams on at the moment :(

First of all, Welcum to PC mate!!!

Gud Luck with ur story mate :cheers

News update:

Kent collapse. Here is the latest scorecard:

M.Walker (not out) (93) (53)
D.Fulton lbw b.A.Giles (14) (4)
R.Key b.A.Giles (14) (4)
M.van Jaarsveld c.J.Troughton b.H.streak (33) (14)
M.Carberry b.A.Giles (17) (7)
A.Hall lbw b. N.Carter (7) (7)
G.Jones (not out) (3) (0)

In all fairness looking at the replay Hall was not out. However once again Carberry fails to make an impact while van Jaarsveld got started but got caught playing a stupid shot. Walker is playing solidly.

Thats a steady innings by Walker!!! Also mate, it will be more gud to see the team's total score also along with screenies!!! :cheers

hope atleast Jones will support Walker!!!

yeh check out surendar's thread for the best presentation and try and use some of those techniques in your story.
good luck

R.Joseph 4.0-1-10-0
J.Tredwell 3.0-3-0-0

I would post screenshots but I am having trouble with it. I'll try again later

i think its a good bowling pitch!!!

its nice bowling by Giles too... 7 wickets!!!

I did some real stupid shots though. Walker tried to square cut and just got a thin edge. While the other batsmen never really got started. If I don't bowl well I'm going to have to go for a draw :(

Also I've never had a runout before I started this season and then I go and get two in a row. When Bell was run out he had got caught by a bouncer and was leaning over while the ball went very fine. Just as Walker reached it they had nearly completed 1 run and when Walker threw it in they started a second suicide run leaving Bell halfway down the wicket :happy
