Story Kev's Ashes Cricket Thread Thingy

Just went through this thread, and its really great Kev. 404 was a huge target to chase and in the end England bowled really well to restrict them for under 230. Massive win for the three lions. KIU :) mate, looking forward for more.

Go easy on em bro, AI Agression isn't really that good though I guess or your bowling is too good
I've always preferred bowling to batting in Cricket games. But I have to say i enjoy it more in this game than I have in any other. The problem the AI has is it cannot react to anything. If you smack 3 fours in the same area it will eventually put a fielder there, but it doesn't choose bowlers on how well they bowl, it doesn't bowl to the fields it sets, it doesn't bowl to any sort of plan, it has to stick to some rigid rules that it has. Shame the guys programming the rules obviously don't have that good a cricket brain really ;)

5th ODi - MCG - Day/Night

Teams:
South Africa
Unchanged

England
A Strauss, A Cook, J Denly, P Collingwood, E Morgan, M Prior, D Mascarenhas, S Broad, T Bresnan, G Onions, S Mahmood

Toss won by England who invited South Africa to bat.

2-2 In the series, I've lost both games chacing under lights, so third time lucky??

I struggled to take catches in this match, got quite a bit of jerkyness down to the large crowd. Dropped something like 8 catches in the deep. Bowling without a full attack was again unrewarding. Gibbs missed out on a century, running him self out after the ball hit his partner. The game seems to do this a lot, but usually the non-striker stays put and the animation ends just after the bowler picks up the ball and be carry on as if nothing has happened. I guess this time the ball was that little bit further away.

Bit of an up and down innings for South Africa, a big partnership, but they weren't really able to kick on. I probably should have noticed the Duminy has been rubbish and replaced him in the lineup, but it wasn't till after the innings that I noticed he has been so poor. I wonder if changing the player would have made any difference at all??

Not the most massive of totals to chase.

Great innings by Gibbs and Kallis. 286 chasing is going be real tough, You will need to play your best cricket today.

Opened with Strauss and Cook for the first time and for the first time had a really good opening partnership. Things were looking very easy indeed.

But 3 wickets in 2 overs kinda changed it all. Lost Strauss first, then Denly, Then Cook. Things went from bad to worse when I lost Morgan and Prior. Thank goodness for Collingwood. Was really going for my shots with him and it came off, his 90 included 11 fours and 3 sixes. Mascarenhas and Broad were able to hang about for a few overs, but unable to add much. With the score on 258 I lost Collingwood (Still required 29) I'd basically just been blocking with Bresnan up until that point so I had to attack with him. Run rate was never going to be an issue, my main concern was wickets but I was still surprised to learn I had outscored South Africa during the same period of play.

Very disappointed by the field settings with 1 run required, Bresnan facing.

No posts here for a while. Honestly, I can't be bothered to play the planned test matches against South Africa.

As you guys for some reason seem to read my rants, I'll leave it to you to choose my opposition for the next ODi series. If nobody posts, I'll pick a team at random. (Oh, I will be playing as England no matter what).
