Story KFC Sponsors: Australia's ODI summer of Cricket

2nd ODI - Bangladesh vs Australia (3 match series)

MarkNicholas.jpg
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to Dhaka with this second One Day International between Bangladesh and Australia, in this 3 match series. It's a beautiful day here in Dhaka and we are proud to bring you this action right here on channel 9.
I am Mark Nicholas and beside me is Michael Slater and we hope you enjoy this coverage of this match.
So here is the situation so far for everyone who missed the opening match between these 2. Bangladesh won the match off the last ball, and have moved 1-0 in the 3 match series, if Bangladesh win todays match, they take out the trophy. Australia need to win this match to bring it to 1 all, and to play another match here in Dhaka to determine the result/winner.
Now Slates, what do you make of these 2 sides?

Well we all know what this Australian squad is capable off. The last series, with the Tri Nations KFC bash, they had a terrible start loosing i think it was just the first 2 or 3 matches of the series, Ricky Ponting put them back together as a group and rebuilded themselves at training. They certainly turned things around on field, and they showed what a class of a team they are. They are missing a lot of talent at the moment with Brett Lee missing, Matty Hayden in some bad form, and well Simmo (Andrew Symonds) in some hot water with the media and the playing group. So i don't really expect much from this side throughout most of the summer, they will need to play a lot of younger players to try and build for the future.

Ok well let's have a look at the 2 sides now, as we come closer to the match, so firstly lets begin with this Australian side, who have a lot of depth when it comes to both the batting and bowling line-up. I will expect them to win this match, with Shaun Marsh coming into the side for Katich who didn't make a good impression in the first battle.

So their we have it Ladies and Gentlemen, everything has been set, and we are ready to get underway here in Dhaka. Australia won the toss and elected to have a ball first. So Bangladesh are batting to win this series, and Australia will need to chase down a total to keep themselves in the series.
What will happen, theres only one way to find out. Stay tuned after the break.

Can you do what I couldn't do in my story, and beat the Aussies at the shorter format? Well you have a chance and with that team, you never know. Aussies are definitely favourites but I don't think anyone will be writing you off just yet.

Great presentation, Roo. This story deserves SOTM.

A good start for Australia with some good economical bowling from Johnson and Hilfenhaus hasn't bowled too poorly either, despite bowling quite a few wides and no balls. Australia definitely in the driving seat.

Great stuff here, Roo. Keep it up.

Yeah good start for the Aussies. They now need to take some more wickets and try and restrict the Bangladeshis for under 200. Great update as usual Roo..

Australia are definitely looking good if Ponting and Marsh can stay in, and with the middle order that the Aussies have, this could be a comfortable win. Rajin Saleh batted awesomely against the Aussies bowlers though!

Brilliant presentation and constant updates, keep this up.

Australia are looking much better with the bat now. There bowling wasn't great, as that is a good total for Bangladesh but if Australia keep a cool head they should win it.

Great writing there Roo, I'm loving this!! :):)

The Aussies did exactly what they had to avoid doing, lose a few quick wickets, some silly batting and Australia could be all out for 180-200. Great writing Roo, I love this presentation! :)
