Story KFC Sponsors: Australia's ODI summer of Cricket

Australia were quite lucky in the end to get the score they got after their miniature collapse, thanks to their tailend. South Africa will no doubt get close to the score of Australia, if not beat it easily. Pollock and Petersen were brilliant with the ball which might mean that seamers will get alot out of the pitch, so the second innings will be very interesting indeed.

Great presentation as normal, Roo, keep it going.

Wow i loved your style of updates in the newspaper format. Proteas in some bother at 11/1.

Edit: Wats happened to Bracken hair. :p

Tait is happy with his first over but it looks like he kicks the ground in frustration...

Good start by Australia so far. Even with 11 off the first over they picked up a wicket which is vital in Twenty20 to stop the run rate.

Well South africans need some 8.5 per over which inst impossible but is difficult. Ben Hilfenhaus has been brilliant hope he does well in the remaining 2 overs of his spell.

As Shan said, I wouldn't count the Saffers out. However I think Australia's bowlers will be able to bowl economically and when the Saffers go for it, I feel they lose quick wickets. Australia to win in my opinion.

Great presentation mate, love the uniqueness of it.

Man of the Match Presentation

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Man of the Match presentation for the match between Australia and South Africa here in Brisbane. What a entertaining match we just witnessed and it was a pleasure to watch. I can safely say, i will be looking forward to when these 2 teams face up again in the coming weeks.
So let me first introuduce you to the losing side's Captain today, Ricky Ponting.....
Now Ricky, so close but yet so far?

"Yeah it was a pretty exciting finish in the end wasn't it, it just shows what this game can easily do in just the space of an over or two. We certainly had the edge half way through the 16th over, until just the one over, to the South African's credit, they put the foot on the accelerator and just took off basically, and that over is what won them the game.
They had some good batting during the top order, but our batting stuggled (myself included) which is something we'll have to pratice before the match between Sri Lanka on Sunday, so hopefully we can come out and post a bigger score wether we're batting first on last on that pitch.
I was very happy with our bowling tonight, i thought it was sensational, all bowlers did practicually well, maybe Tait was the more expensive one, but we'll sit down and have a chat sometime over the next couple of days to see were is it at with his bowling and stuff"..

Alright thankyou Ricky, and now i am joined by the South African Graeme Smith. Graeme Welcome.. You yourself played a brilliant Innings and just going out on 42, are you glad you gave your team the runs to get over the line?

"Yeah well you know, it was a great team contribution. All the batting order played a huge part, wether it was Kallis who went out for about 5 runs, or to myself as you said that scored 42 before being dismissed. I mean sure i am dissapointed that i didn't make the 50 in a 20/20 series, but to be honest i am more glad i picked up some runs that were vital in our run chase of 140 to chase the Aussies down. They are very hard to beat here in Australia and in Brisbane, and to do it in a 20/20 match, it's a unbelievable feeling.
But this isn't over yet, we know the Aussies will come out hard the next time we face them in this Tri Series, so we need to put a lot more pressure onto them the next time, and train really hard so we can make it 2-0 against them, and then see if we can go on from their.."

"Well thanks Graeme and we wish you all the best for the upcoming matches of this Tri Series Tournament. Now ladies and gentlemen, it is a great pleasure into announcing tonight's Man of the Match award, is award to South Africa's M. Ntini.......
Congradulations mate, now, you set the South African's up early, you and Peterson had the Aussies in trouble all night with both your bowling, did you have any game plans for a certain batsmen, or it is one of them just do it type of nights?

" Well it's really hard to say you know, some batsmen you look at during the week, sometimes you watch some videos of their recent matches, and try and pick out what kind of shots they are comfortable with, and what shots their not, and so you try and bring that to your game the next time you face that side, so yes their is a bit of preperation before the actua match that goes into each batsmen, but it's a whole different story when your actually out in the middle and playing. Somehow all those stats and everything goes away, and you tend to play your own sort of game. The excitment and adrenelation picks you up, and takes you into a whole different game.
But it was good to pick up some wickets tonight, and along with Peterson, it was a good night for us South African's..."

Well their you go Laides and Gentlmen. That concludes our Man of the Match presentation, and we hope you enjoyed our coverage of the 20/20 match here at Brisbane. There is a lot more cricket to come here on channel 9 the home of cricket for the summer. So stick around... One again, it's goodbye from Brisbane.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to the Adelaide oval where we are ready for our next 20/20 contest between Australia and Sri Lanka. A great match is to be promised this afternoon and we bring you the full coverage off the full 40 overs from both sides. It will be a interesting match between these 2 as Australia really need to have a win, to put themselves back into this running for the Tri Series contention. Sri Lanka have already beaten South Africa who beat the Aussies on Friday night, so the Australians need a win here badly to keep in touch.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first, as this pitch has a lot of covering off grass coming from either end of the ground. It's a little dewy as well, so it won't give much bounce at all. Sri Lanka did the right thing by bowling first.

Australia have made a lot of changes to their side from the last 20/20 match. Into the side comes Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds.. in suspense of Ben Hilfenhaus and Shaun Tait.. Brad Haddin has been ordered to open the batting as Michael Clarke goes back down to number 4. And with Phil Jaques, that isn't a bad opening pair.
So we picked up play with Vaas opening the bowling for Sri Lanka, and Brad Haddin is on strike.... stay tuned.

australia really need to win this. they looked weak against south africa. there bowling attack has been really weakened for this match. but still alot of hitters in the side
