Story Killers CC journey through season 15

Killers crush Caprica FC

Killers CC have continued their excellent start to the season, recording a innings and 175 run win against Caprica FC.

Unforunately, Caprica FC put their priority into their One Day and BT20 leagues, using First Class as a resting ground. They put out a second XI, surprising the Killers, who went full strength into this match, but the restult was still very satisfying.

The game start well, with Fillery winning the toss, and electing to bat. His batsmen did the job magnificantly, scoring 7/493 from the first day, when he called an overnight declaration. Spillane and Vidale got the team off to a solid start, before Mulvaney scored a beautiful century, as did Francois, in his first innings with the club.

Killers came out to bowl. Bignot snared an early wicket, 1/17. Then Cornwall and Balindlela put on a solid partnership, taking Caprica FC to 1/70, and looking in a good position. Then, Fillery struck. Then again. Joyce got in with his first wicket for Killers CC, wickets just kept falling. The spinners were barely playable for Caprica FC's batsmen, Fillery taking 5, and Joyce 4, bailing them all out for 127 from 1/70. A collapse if ever I've seen one, the only player being able to resist, Caprica's opening batsmen Balindlela, carrying his bat for 51 not out.

Fillery rightly enforced the follow on, so Balindlela didn't even bother taking his pads off, and came back out to try to fight to save Caprica FC. He fell early, Mcclaren and Cornwall got into the 40s, Burnip crossed 50, but they couldn't go on, as Joyce, Fillery and Adri took 3 each, plus a run out, to gift Killers CC an innings and 75 run victory.

Fillerys Killers are now strong favourites to come first in FC, and promote comfortably. Join us tomorrow for our One Day clash against korora primary, see you then.

Killers smash korara primary

Killers CC have continued their excellent start to the season, recording a huge 224 run win against korara primary.

Korara primary won the toss, and elected to field, on a green wicket. We had a bad start, losing opener Vidale for a 3rd baller, then Spillane and Mulvaney solidified the innings, with quite solid innings, their partnership taking us to 2/229. Spillane played well, for his century, unfortunately not going on, but giving Tembo a chance to bat 4, in possibly his last innings with the club, in which he impressed. Mulvaney was the star, scoring not only his first OD ton, but going right on to a big score.

Killers came out to bowl. Their openers passed the 50 partnership, and looked solid, despite having basically no chance. Their openers failed to go on with a good start, then their number 3 was run out. The rest of their batting from that point is remarkably weak, and it showed.

Fillery's boys had a huge win in the end, no trouble at all.

Killers management sought out a replacement for Tembo, if anyone wanted him on the transfer market, and if he doesn't sell, he will probably slot into the second XI.

Killers roll Mildura centre plaza CC

Killers CC have continued their excellent start to the season, with a massive 10 wicket win.

Killers lost the toss, but were bowling as captain Carless said they would do anyway, a good decision it would have been, as the home side bowled out the visitors for just 14. Marcel got them off to a good start, taking 6/5 from his 5 over opening spell, Al 2/1, Woozley 1/1 and Kay 1/5 chipping in.

Killers had to chase down the mammoth total of 14, doing so in the first over of play, sealing an excellent victory.
