Thought I'd put this out there. Kyle Mills has to be the most overrated cricketer in New Zealand, but he seems to keep being selected in spite of his performances.

So two questions. Who reckons he should remain in the New Zealand side? And does anyone think there is a more overrated cricketer?

It's not like they've got amazing players who can't get a single game in five years.

Mills is rated as a good death bowler in NZ. He also can hold the bat. Other than that not too great.

Not really, he isn't rated as much as Bond, Vettori, and Oram. But since NZ don't have man world class bowlers yet they have to rate him.

Surely Franklin is ahead of Oram is terms of test match bowling? On the subject of Mills, the 6 overs i've seen of him looked pretty crap.

Franklin is like Hoggard. Good if the ball is swinging if not he isn't much good. He bowls at 130km/h so without the swing he is fairly easy pickings. Oram is a much quicker bowler and can get bounce like Harmison. I haven't seen too much of Oram though.

i would rate franklin. martin and tuffey.. sometimes even butler all above mills...

Those bowlers are either VERY good.. or below average.

Mills is always around average...

And aussie oram is not that quick.. he has slowed down a lot with his new action

I like Franklin...I saw him play for Gloucestershire last year and rated him very highly. He swung the ball huge, and could become a very effective opening bowler at Test and/or ODI.

i would rather have martin in there i enjoy watching him bowl

Whats happened to Daryl Tuffey, havn't seen his name around the NZ side for a while (consistantly anyway)?

Thought so and his action wasn't like Tait should he would get the bounce.

I think Tuffey is injuried as he is one of NZ's best bowlers.

Nobody ever rated Mills really. Who else do we have to bowl? He bowls alright. He isn't overly threatening but hes the best we have got.

Tuffey has been out ever since his 20 run or whatever it was opening over where he bowled like 6 no balls and 4 wides or something ridiculas. I don't think his behaviour outside the game helped much either. He will probably be looked at again during our domestic competition and hopefully he has worked hard on his bowling and is as good as he used to be.

Without even having to mention Bond, I would tend to rate Butler, Martin, Oram, Franklin, Tuffey.... anyone ahead of mills.

He doesnt think about the batsman and bowls short and wide every second ball, only getting wickets cause the batsmans eyes light up.
He can swing the bat, but shouldnt a bowler be in there cause he can bowl?

With the supersub rule, we should play martin, cause he wont have to bat.
