lag is an issue for online play

i have been having a hard time to play some descent matches. i dont know if others are facing the same problem. but i do notice occasional lag while batting. the cursor seems to stop and move last minute. the ball lands somewhere else where i wasnt expecting.

other than that, a lot of people are misusing the marker by constantly moving it until the last second when the ball is released this is making it really tough as due to lag the timings go bad.

i hope transmission can do something about it. as i think its not fair and it should stop moving atleast halfway in the bowlers runup to give the batsman time to get in position.

does any1 notice these issues for online play?

Yes, everyone does. There has been similar discussion in the 'PC Multiplayer Thread' as well. Some deem it fair while others don't.

The ones who think its fair say that its the same for both players and it makes batting a bit mor difficult in a generally battign friendly game so it evens up the contest and that's a good thing.

he ones who're against it say that it's making use of a mechanic not intended to be in the game nor is acctually part of cricket so it's wrong, the jury is (and I suspect will always be) out on the final verdict. Personally I suggest you suck it up and play online a lot, you'll get used to batting with the lag and the cursor movements after a few matches!

Hopefully later in the week, we'll be providing another Beta Update with online re-enabled with the following improvements:
A new 5-star 'Match Completion' rating to deal with quitters.
Leaderboard data now updates even if you don't complete matches.
Improved handling of lag during bowling.

It won't fix lag, it will just hopefully stop the ball from hovering in midair when you get lag.

Why should they reset the leaderboard? I have earned my position at number 1 in ODIs and T20s. I had to play hundreds of matches wher the other players quitted but I still got there. I don't want my hard work to be washed away in a patch.

If you want the leaderboard to be reset than you are a loser! Because you are not good enough to be top ranked in the first place you want an easy route to get there.

How could it be a easy route? everyone will play and quitters will get punished. please explain how it will be easy.....if your are really number one then you will be number one again...its just this that people will now know that you quit when you lose...there are three people who have confirmed this on this site so please dont even try to explain yourself again. i am so happy with this quitter stat......Perfect. :rtfl

I will still be number 1 after the patch. You just wait and see! My stats will show almost 100% completed games, no quits. There are only 1 or maximum of 3 games I did not finish but not in fear of losing but pure boredom of lag and a cuple of frozen games. I have apologised to my opponents every time I have not been able to finish the game. I don't worry about lag or no lag I still end up on top.

You can carry on all you like I know how I got there. I am not bothered by your comments.
