Kevin Thompson is a 38 year old Striker born on 21/06/1970 in Elswick,Newcastle.(Not to be confused with The Scotish born Rangers player,Kevin Thompson)

Domestic Sucess
In 1986 Thompson made his professional debut at age 16 for Sunderland . He made 5 appearances throught the 86/87 season scoring 4 goals in the proccess. He spent the following 4 Seasons with Sunderland making 90 appearances in and scoring 34 goals in total. He had built himself a name up during this period as a strong attacking player and for a player of his strength had a great deal of pace. He made several appearances for England youth sides during this time. Before the start of the 91/92 season Thompson was transfered to Norwich City for a fee of ?19,000. He played for Norwich for until August 1999 when he was transfered to Charlton Athletic for only ?20k. In total he played 246 games for Norwich Scoring 97 goals attaining young player of the year and top goal scorer once in that time. The move turned out better than hoped as Thompson helped take Charlton into the premiership scoring 30 goals in the season getting him League One's Top Scorer and Player Of The Year. He stayed with Charlton until 2006 when, along with manager at the time Alan Curbishley, he left the club and didn't resign a contract. After 6 years with Charlton he had managed to score 67 goals in 179 games. He played a season for Sunderland once again until he was released by Sunderland in late 2007.

The Elusive England Cap
Kevin although selected in the england squad multiple times has never managed to get that elusive first cap. He was brought into the squad for the 1998 European Championship but had to return home after tearing a hamstring. He was also picked in the England squad in 2000 and 2001 both times missing out on a spot in the team. Again Injury stopped him getting that cap during the 2002 world cup when Kevin damaged a ligament in his left leg once again causing him to return home. Kevin hasn't had to call up from England since.

The Future
Thompson, now no longer as quick or a strong as he once was has been signed by Fulham to a 4 year contract, seeing out his prolific career with the club. As we approach the start of the 08/09 season can Thompson make a return to his former glory, or will he go down in flames as a has been who doesn't know when to quit? This is His last chance at The Three Lions,Can He grab them by the tail?

So This is how it's going to go. I'm going to do a Be A Pro Seasons on FIFA 09 as the created guy Kevin Thompson. I will write up a do it from his point of view kinda like a diary. I will try and get as far as I can hopefully finnishing out Kev's career.

This sounds brilliant, mate.

4 year contract for a 38 year old is long! Hopefully he can bang the goals in and maybe get that one elusive cap. ;)

Great start, Joe.

Lol, this guy seems unlucky with the England squad. Maybe a 2010 World Cup call up is on the cards???

Reserves At My Age?

38 Years old, on my last legs and what do they do to me? Put me in the flipping reserves. After having a rather heated conversation with the Gaffa over his decision to put me into the reserves I headed out into godawful Fulham to get my hair done(There's no place like Newcastle). Over the years I've been know for my wacky and insane hair styles. Now was no different from the past. The current hairdo was dyed white and had the sides and back shaved off. I usually stick it up on top aswell. It gets you noticed alot atleast. After the hour and a half it took to get the hair done I headed back to the pad and switched on the box. I flicked the channel to Sky Sports News to check out what was going on elsewhere. The first bleeding headline was about how the "Old Man Of Football" had been signed to Fulham and put into the reserves. Word seems to really get out quick these days as it was a matter of hours ago that I had found out myself. Hopefully the Fulham lads will have a word with Hodgson and try and get me brought up to the first team. The lads seem alright and for me I think the key man for us this season will be Bobby Zamora. The lad has alot of skill. I think that if we have any chance of winning anything Zamora needs to be on form. I've got training tommorow so will have to get my head down soon before showing the kids how it's done.

Zamora, The key player for Fulham.

Newcastle? Fulham is in London.... :p

Zamora is one of the worst players in the Premier League for me, although some people rate him. You'll be one of the key players this season. ;)

Hopefully you can get into the first team soon. good stuff mate.

I know where Fulham is that's why it says god awful :p the no place like Newcastle bit is because he's from Newcastle. Thanks alot only a short update but just thought I'd get one up.

Nice start, very interesting and unique story. Keep it up mate. Well you can't expect to waddle into the side but the reserves is a bit harsh. Zamora is nothing special lol :p.

Well condersering your age I guess that it isn't suprising that your in the reserves.
