Fix the AI fields
The AI chasing (one dayers/ t20)
The wides issue (short balls)
Pretty much done after that. Any other issues are minor.
But to me those are pretty decent issues which have been known since day one and still not been fixed.[DOUBLEPOST=1513250310][/DOUBLEPOST]
Honestly average probably 1 an over in every test I have played. Think it's been mentioned by someone else on here quite often.
Mentioned it once before when I think I was about 3-120 with 38 extras.
Yup the AI fields are the biggest challenge at the moment.
I have always wanted to do this over the years, but I assume it cannot be that simple to allow us to alter the default fields.
IMO the reason it's not that easy to do is coz the amount of effort it would take for testing various permutations & combinations of the fields. E.g., if users are allowed to tweak the OOB fields, how will the AI react to them? What if the game breaks if a field is tweaked in a certain way? The better option would be to take a page out of the "EA Gamechangers" book which EA is following to engage with the community. They work with 30-40 odd folks representing end user community who are focused on certain type of gameplay - some on online, some online CFM/franchise, some offline CFM/franchise, some online MUT and others online H2H (competitive).
If Big Ant can identify and engage folks in a similar fashion some of the common issues would be nipped in the bud. E.g., if someone like
@Acid Burn or
@AliKhan215 could represent online community, someone like
@jaffar100 can provide feedback on default fields & field sets (IIRC
@jaffar100 is the person who had a thread with realistic fields for various formats and scenarios), the issues would be uncovered much sooner and handled accordingly. Similarly they will need someone who focuses on shorter formats, someone who prefers Tests, someone who focuses on career mode & stats, another someone who prefers batting in general and someone who prefers bowling. Once you identify the core group of "game changers" to work with as part of the feedback process things will be much better.
do you have video?
i have had some wides/byes from short pitched balls on hard pitches, default sliders, but not on soft pitches and not to the extent you describe
I can confirm what
@Wilburella mentioned. I haven't played the latest patch but in the previous patch (1.05 on PS4) there are plenty of freebies/extras given away by the AI. I played a bunch of odis with various teams - all default OOB - spanning Eng, Aus, Ind, SA, Pak, SL and the lowest amount of extras I saw was in mid 20s and the highest was just north of 50. Mostly the extras conceded per innings (mostly wides) are in 30s or 40s per odi innings. And do keep in mind I mostly simulate AI batting and try to chase down the score so my batting innings mostly was completed between overs 31 and 45 and these extras were conceded in those number of overs.
AI on the whole don't bowl to a plan and bowl plenty of short pitched stuff leading to plenty of 2,3,4 or 5 wides. That was how it was in DBC 17 and it has carried over to Ashes Cricket and I play on Random pitches except for turning Rain to 'None' so the extras are conceded on all pitch types.
