Draft: Left-Handed Cricketers | Index updated

@Aislabie what about keepers?
Just thought of this in the shower and am halfway through writing the rule for that to put in the index. Will also copy it into this post when finished.

Updated rules, clarifying what counts as a secondary skill

  • In order to be eligible for this draft, a player must be left-handed at their dominant skill.If a player has never bowled in their first-class career, then they will not be considered to have a secondary skill.
  • Up to five members of your team will be allowed to perform their secondary skill right-handed. This ensures that players like Alastair Cook and Trent Boult do not miss out on selection because of their secondary skills.
    • In the case of all-rounders whose primary skill is not obvious, their designated primary skill will depend upon their position in the batting order. Top five batsmen will be considered batting all-rounders, while those batting at seven or below will be considered bowling all-rounders. If you put an all-rounder at six, however, they will need to both bat and bowl left-handed.
  • Wicket-keepers must have batted left-handed. If they are selected as a wicket-keeper in your side, then their bowling hand is irrelevant.
  • At least one player in your squad must have been from a non-Test playing nation during their playing career.
THEREFORE
Possible Roles|Primary skill|Secondary skill|Counted as
:bat: :ar: :bwl:|Left-handed batsman|Left-handed bowler|:blueo: Standard player (no limit)
:wk:|Left-handed batsman|Wicket-keeper|:blueo: Standard player (no limit)
:bat: :ar:|Left-handed batsman|Right-handed bowler|:redo: Restricted player (max 5)

:blueo: :ar: Garry Sobers
One of the finest all-rounders of the game, he was an aggressive batsman, a trait you would find in most modern day batsmen and also he is among the rare club of batsmen to have hit 6 sixes in an over. He could bowl left arm spin, wrist spin or even medium pace.
Scored 8000+ runs while picking up 235 wickets, establishing himself as truly one of the greats of the game.

Stats
8032 runs in 160 inns, @57.78, 26 hundreds and 30 fifties
235 wickets in 159 inns, @34.03, 6 five-wicket hauls

Please pardon me for the writeups for now. Probably the best WKB there is in this draft. And mind you good wks are very rare and the left handed ones more so!

:wi: Brian Charles Lara

Known as the "Prince", he was stylish and elegant, mentally tough and attacking.
These aren’t just any random sobriquets of respect adorning their subject but real virtues which make Brian Lara a standout character in modern day cricket. Lara will forever be remembered as one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era, bracketed alongside the elite company of Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis.

Lara's wizardry and sheer style though would trump any batsman including the aforementioned troika. Another attribute that set him up as a cut above the rest was his voracious appetite for big, massive scores. Armed with a high backlift, generating that typical Caribbean flourish, Lara was equally efficient against spin and pace. Ask Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath and the rest of their breed.

The holder of the highest individual test score(400 not out) and the highest first class score(501) made by an individual in first-class cricket, Lara is a word that concocts ecstasy and pain, speaks of redemption and comeback and, spells jubilation wherever he’s remembered.

Stats:
Matches: 131
Innings: 232
Runs: 11953
Average: 52.88
Highest Score: 400*
50s/100s: 48/34

Wasim Akram - 25 January 1985 - 9 January 2002

:pak::ar: Wasim Akram

Arguably the best left-handed Fast bowler of all time, and very handy with the bat.

With complete mastery over swing ans seam,and sometimes moves the ball both ways in one delivery. All this comes at high speed from a quick, ball-concealing action, and is backed up by the threat of a dangerous bouncer or deceptive slower delivery; Akram striked fear in any batting lineup.

Considered as a genuine all-rounder by many, Akram under achieved with the bat despite a monumental 257 against Zimbabwe in Sheikhupura in 1996-97

Bat or ball, one cannot ignore; the force that was Wasim Akram
