Lega Calcio Seria A Thread

Umm so with Milan getting thrashed today, Inter are champions and success for the Special One yet again. Way to go, Jose!

Fiorentina still in the battle for fourth and CL next season, playing Sampdoria (Pazzini!!??) tomorrow.

Inter absolutely dominate their league and still come nowhere near in the Champions League. Makes you wonder.

Well maybe, but then they have always been cursed in Europe. Besides the cup competitions are always seen as a "bonus" there. Means nothing unless you win the league, as Milan have found out.

Inter want to win the Champions League. No question about that. That's why Mourinho was brought in. Mancini was sacked after winning the league 3 times in a row.

Good for Inter Milan that they've won the Championship by a defeat of AC Milan at Udinese with 2-1. Hopefully we will see some more competition in the next season from other teams.

Yes although they have a very strong squad. AC are filled with too many old players who cant perform at the same level for an entire season. Roma were shocking this season, especially in the first half, but then they did have serious injuries problems.

Juventus might be the team to give Inter a good fight next season, especially since they seemed to have got Diego now. A couple of signings might still be needed.

And ofcourse Fiorentina are having a second successful season, their lead over Genoa is now five points, which means win against Lecce, and they will be guaranteed Champions League football. Not sure if they will be ready to fight for the title just yet, but Prandelli has to be applauded for making the right signings once again, and despite having far less depth than Inter, AC, Juve and Roma, he managed to get them performing consistently. Gilardino has rediscovered his Parma form, and is probably having a nice laugh at AC Milan. Jovetic is an awesome find as is Felipe.

Congratulations:happy:clap to Prandelli and his boys for making it to the CL for the second consecutive season. Hopefully they'll do better in it next season.

Mourinhou extended his contract by Inter Milan with one year. It's now till 2012, I think.

I would be surprised if he left this summer. Clearly HIS signings of Milito and Motta indicate that he wants to stay.

Mourinho is in love with Inter apparently.

Anyways today's game is not just about Maldini's farewell. Both Milan and Fiorentina are fighting for automatic qualification for the Champions League, which is quite important. Although the Rossoneri fans will probably remind you that their triumphs in 2003 and 2007 started from the qualifying stages. Fiorentina unfortunately have a much thinner squad and the fewer games they have the better.

Looks like Maldini is going to sign off with a win. Congratulations him for that.

Fiorentina finish fourth, which means Champions League qualification games. I hope they get Atletico and knock the stuffing out of them.
