Transfers Window Legends At Battle XII | Pre-season - Late action is still better than no action at all

A creditable performance from Ireland there; for a good while we roughly matched England and we learned a lot about the team

Thats a draw! a satisfactory comeback after poor warmup match. hope our bowlers will get the wickets in next match.

That 9th wicket partnership was the turning point
Maybe the bowling could have been better

No disrespect to Bangladesh but I expected no less from the team in this match. India in the next round is going to be the first proper test.

Lineup rules

1) A proper wicket-keeper (:wk:/:wkb:/:arwk:) in your XI.
2) A minimum of 5 players marked to bowl (up to 6 on very flat pitches where part-time options often need to share the workload).
3) Players ruled out due to injury cannot be selected.
4) The time limit for posting lineups is 72 hours. I will likely go with a random lineup if your lineup isn't posted within that time.
5) Teams with 15 squad members must give all their players a game over the course of the tournament (warm-ups don't count). For teams with 18 squad members, a minimum of 15 players must get a game.

Player rarities

:purpo: - Elite/Legend. Used for the players that are undoubtedly the best of the lot.
:redo: - Ruby. Used for players that are extremely talented and can play in a way no one else can replicate.
:goldo: - Gold. Used for players with a high level of consistency and ability to deliver during key moments.
:slvo: - Silver. Used for players that aren't as talented as their Gold/Ruby/Legend contemporaries, but still capable of holding their own against the best in business.
:bro: - Bronze. Used for players that are a level below Silver. They are more likely to put in good performances than players from the Sapphire/Crystal category.
:blueo: - Sapphire/Crystal. Used for players that are inexperienced or with a lower skill set compared to those from a higher category. They could either put in good performances or fail miserably.

In other words: :purpo: > :redo:/:goldo: (:redo: marginally better than :goldo:) > :slvo: > :bro: > :blueo:

Also, the squads selected thus far are sorted in the following order:

Opening batsman (1-2)
Top-order (3-4)
Middle-order (4-7)
Lower-order (7-8)
Tailenders pace (9-11)
Tailanders spin (9-11)

Explanation on pitch types

:bwl::down: Damp/Sticky - Massively in favor of bowlers and an absolute nightmare to bat on, unless you're Victor Trumper.
:left::right: Dusty - Plenty of turn on offer for spinners and a good place to bat for spin-savvy batsmen. Good pace bowlers are still likely to thrive.
:ar::up: Evenly balanced - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines.
:bat::left: Flat - A batsman-friendly pitch which provides little or no assistance to bowlers. Expect big totals.
:bwl::up: Green - A lot of movement on offer early on, which makes it ideal for bowlers capable of swinging the ball. Batting expected to become easier as the match progresses.
:ar::left: Hard - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way
:right::left: Dry/Slow - Ideal for slow and spin bowlers as the name suggests. Sometimes quite difficult to bat on.
:down: Poor - Uneven bounce and a huge amount of turn on offer for spinners. Expect a slow hard grind where most batsmen rarely score at above 2 an over.

New Zealand posted an impressive first innings total of 367 in testing conditions with Heath Streak and Paul Strang's strikes reducing them to 146/5 at one stage. They couldn't have made it past 300 if it hadn't been for John Reid's counter-attacking 95 from No 6 and some valuable contributions from the lower-order.

Zimbabwe were not about to be dominated on their home turf and replied with 310, with Andy Flower scoring an impressive 80 off 158 balls. He was to be the only half-centurion in their lineup despite decent contributions from all batsmen down to No 11. New Zealand lead by 57 runs.

Graham Dowling fell in the 40s for the second time in the match after having successfully negotiated a testing early spell from Heath Streak. The solid foundations laid by him alongside Bert Sutcliffe allowed the likes of John Reid, John Wright and Martin Donnelly to bat with freedom and set Zimbabwe a daunting target of 353 with a little more than a day remaining in the match.

Andy Flower decided to play his shots rather than block almost everything like the rest of his team-mates. It helped reduce Zimbabwe's margin of defeat to under 150 runs.
