Oh, poo. Although not entirely unexpected, it's still frustrating to lose despite having such a strong team.

On the plus side, Rohan Kanhai played peerlessly in both innings. Tony Gray took wickets again, but I'm worried that he might be just a little bit expensive. Every game in the competition is now a must-win fixture.

Wow we are through to the finals.
We made some bold decisions to play Waugh and Benaud ahead of Chappell and Warne, it really worked in our favour.

After having them at 83 for 4 we must have restricted them below 200 in the first inngs.

We are the only unbeaten team but we still have scope for improvement.

Hugh Tayfield exploited the bounce of the WACA pitch with great effect. One of his five wickets was Jack Hobbs, who was all set to score a century only to miss out by two runs.

Meanwhile, England's position of qualifying for the semi-final looked secure with the match headed for a likely draw. All because South Africa conceded a 1-run lead to them in the first innings.
