A 4-wicket haul from Jacob Oram, some shrewd captaincy from Stephen Fleming and some brilliant fielding from the New Zealanders made Zimbabwe's target of 227 appear a lot bigger than it actually was. They looked down and out at 142/8 when a brilliant direct hit from Jacob Oram caught Eddo Brandes inches short of his crease, and later at 205/9 following a mix-up between Henry Olonga and Elton Chigumbura. But the latter's nerves of steel saw the job done for Zimbabwe, as they scampered to a thrilling 1-wicket victory with a little more than 3 overs to spare. Sensational stuff from the Zimbabweans after a running an experienced Indian lineup very close in their previous game.
