Bowling: West Indies- 4, New Zealand- 0New Zealand were comprehensively outplayed in all departments by a rampaging West Indian out-fit and conceded a bonus point to add salt to the wound in their last outing this season.
The West Indians put up a massive first innings total of 553 for the loss of only 4 wickets as Viv Richards, George Headley and Gordon Greenidge looked in fantastic touch. Richards, making a comeback after a series of low scores at the start of the tournament silenced his critics as he amassed 196 narrowly missing out on what could have been a fine double-century.
Another comeback man Courtney Walsh also did a fantastic job with the ball as the New Zealand batsmen could do little against such brilliant bowling from their opponents as Martin Crowe was the only one to show some fight.
The Kiwis will have to wait again for next season as they must return home now.

Yea, Sir Viv making a great comeback. Same with Courtney Walsh. We need these two players for the playoffs. They clicked at the right time. Now, the last round match is going to be very interesting. Probably the top of the table clash.

Sunil Gavaskar's grace combined with Virender Sehwag's pyrotechnics took them home in convincing fashion by 8 wickets which was quite brilliant as they were batting in difficult conditions facing the same bowlers that troubled them in the first innings.
