Post Line-ups Legends At Battle XII | Round 3 - The greatest ODI batter who never was..

Symonds is a better bowler. They're both the same as batsmen, imo.
Well Better Bowler yes! Better Batsman NO!! but as a AR Symonds is better so it makes sense to have him!! so no changes :)

He's right. My ratings were shit back then. Too stats-based, plus I had been following the ratings guides posted by others rather than my own. By the time I sorted it out, it was too late and the season was almost over.

Never Forget !

Hi there. Just to want to ask what you make of Nick Knight? Knight was one of my favorite England cricketers apart from Gough, Flintoff, Stewart and Trescothick. He was below average in tests but brilliant in ODIs.
Very familiar with him as he's a Warwickshire icon. You make a good point.
Actually I may bring him in for Buttler if VC will let me have Tresco as a secondary keeper.

I could allow Trescothick to keep wickets if that's what you want, but know that it could risk hampering his batting form. Personally reckon you'd be better off with someone who averages 37 and strikes at almost 120 in ODIs from the middle/lower-middle order, especially when you've already got the likes of Trescothick, Gooch, Stewart and even Gower (to some extent) who are quite capable of opening the batting. Meanwhile, the number or power hitters down the order in your squad isn't all that high with Flintoff being mostly hit or miss, Botham being a complete ODI dud (on the batting front anyway) and Hollioake not particularly convincing either. Your choice though.

Does look like a pretty good squad. Any chance of bringing in Mohammad Rafique though? He deserves to be there in an all-time Bangladesh squad far more than the likes of Taijul IMO. Easily their best bowler in the 2000s by quite a distance, and one who generally saved his best performances for some of the strongest opponents of that era.

Okay you if you say so then you can replace him with Nasir Hossain(far too many allrounders).Btw I didn't know much about bangladesh's past in cricket so that's why I must have left him.

PS- Appreciate the suggestion.

A couple of changes I'd like to suggest here - Dave Langford-Smith for Craig Young and Kyle McCallan for Gary Wilson. Despite his pretty stats, Young has been largely untested against Test level opposition unlike L-Smith who was one of Ireland's most consistent bowlers in their superb 2007 WC campaign. Also, Wilson shouldn't be anywhere near an all-time XI of any sort IMO, he's way too average a player (plus you've already got Bray in your squad as a backup keeper to NOB). McCallan on the other hand was one of Ireland's best spinners in the 2000s and a pretty handy lower-order bat too.

No Ashwin in ODI
Ashwin is someone who can bat as well in tricky situations. Though overall he hasn't created a huge impact in ODIs but still he can be a good hand if considered.
I would rather go with Bumrah / Shami.
Bumrah hasn't achieved his feat yet in ODIs cricket. He maybe a good death bowler of T20s but certainly not of ODIs.
Shami's economy is a bit matter of concern, although he has the ability of taking quick wickets but still I would like to suggest better stick with Ashwin or if you still want Shami we can draft him into the squad.
Ganguly / Dravid as captain, not Dhoni..
Once the God of cricket cited "Dhoni is the best captain I have played under" and as far as I believe Dhoni has/had achieved everything despite having limited resource.
Ganguly / Dravid were unlucky captains. Inspite of having so many senior experienced players they haven't led India to win the world cup.

This is something which I cannot agree upon.

Dhoni is lucky guy... He never faced 2000's Australian team as captain... that's why India able to win the world cup in his time...
