I bowled legsin for around 7-8 months after i switched from being a medium pace bowler. When i bowl im more of a kumble type bowler because i usually concentrate on line and lenght and not much on the spin. I can get the odd one to turn but my balls usually pitch on line and turn very little. However, I can never get the ball to turn the other way(googly). I tried many different ways to get it to turn the other way like bowling over the hand with the fingers pointing upwards, or letting the ball rollover the back of my hand. I even tried the Mendis flick kind of ball but i still coudnt get it to turn. Can someone help me with advice on how to bowl consistent googlys?

This is a case for any new bowler, who is new to leg-spin and trying googlys'..

Once you try the ball which comes out from the back of your hand, that even turns' the good leg-spin way, the reason is understood, and the answer is here..:..

Put your hand as if you are in a position when the umpire is paused while waving a four..:p..

Now put your Leg-spin position up, ..Right.., and now, go normally and act as if you are bowling through to the point where you are about to throw the ball..(Really, imagine you're bowling a ball).. And, Make sure you release with the palm facing your side And, Now, stop where You are about to bowl and at the time when you spin the ball from your fingers, but not releasing it completely..

Now, see where the position of your ball is, towards the leg-spin or towards the off-spin way..? And, next.. Yeah, if it's in the leg-spin way, twist your hand more towards the right side, towards the off-spinning side, IN the position as you were before, and come to the normal position as you were before, to the umpire-pause way:p.. WITH THE POSITION OF THE HAND UN-MOVED, and try bowling and stopping at the position at the release of the ball, and imagine you're now bowling a googly and see where the ball stops and in which direction it is in, Left of right, if it's still right, try the way as i said several times and bowl once you get the Position correctly and Right.. Perfect "Legspin googly" would really be added in your arsenal..

There are more simple ways, but this is the way, you practice "Leg-Spin googly"..

Very simple.

Get into bowling mode, raise your arm, and look at your wrist. For a legbreak, the palm should be facing the batsman at point of release.
Then twist your body and arm so that the back of your hand is now facing the batsman, and the palm facing the umpire.
Keeping the grip same, just bowl it. It should spin in.

Sometimes it will spin as a legbreak. This happens, I believe, when you squeeze the ball out of your fingers at release instead of releasing normally. When you squeeze the ball out with the legbreak grip instead or rolling your finger and wrist normally, the ball with come out as an offbreak, and similarly the googly out as a legbreak. You could always use that as your googly, but the ball comes out flat and does't have that nice loop and flight a googly does.

Thanks guys. Ill make sure i try it this way next practice and tell you the results.

bro, i think that is an off spin

Um, a googly is an offbreak. But bowled with a legspinner's action and grip.

Umm, congrats then! An offbreak is really simple. Palm facing the batsman, ball held between Thumb, Index and Middle fingers. Then just roll your fingers over the ball as you release it, and voila! There are variations to this too, you could hold the ball the same way along the seam, have your palm face towards the left (If you are a righty) and hold it at the edge of your fingers and then bowl it. Gives it more pace and bounce. Or you could hold it deeper in your palm, between the same three fingers but with the middle finger slightly bent, and at release use your wrist to help make the ball spin. Allows you to bowl with more flight...

i played for the second team on Saturday and there was this bowler who just bowled googly's bounce and spin awsome!

well what i saw it was a flick of the wrist forwards but not like a seamer like your bowling a leggie hope that helped
