Online Cricket Games Owned
I was starting to play an online game and just then the idea to stream the audio while we are playing the game struck. It would be excellent innovation I thought if we allow our online game players to stream the audio from the game live and this way it will only improve the online gaming ability on this forum. This will ensure you only don't have to trust your opponent's honesty but you could trust your ears ;) I think it will be lots of fun if we introduce this to the online cricket community on this forums.

Just to test I may need someone to try this link once I start the game. Please use Windows Media or Real Player or Winamp player to play the link. I will start the game in another 10-15 minutes or so, please let me know if the audio sounds fine. Every now and then to change the bowling I may quit the game then come back. At such times the audio will not be heard so please bear with it. The link to play the audio is http://www.overthewicket.com:6080/;file.mp3

I haven't connected yet but was waiting for someone to respond so that I can connect. I will connect it right away, give it 2-3 minutes and then connect. You should then be able to listen. Thanks for the response anyways guys.

After you connect leave the audio for about 10-20 seconds to receive the audio.

LOL, then I could manipulate the scores can't I. This way there is no way we could do that though mate. Thanks for having a listen Colin. Is the quality good enough, its coming at 24 kbps so it's good for even a normal dial up connection.

Well it works fine- problem being that it's incredibly boring, who'd sit there for hours listening to the same sound files being spouted over and over?

That is indeed true, it can be boring to sit and listen to the same old stuff but this is definitely something some guys may improve upon. There may be guys willing to listen if they are involved in a online game or even could do some productive commentary.

One problem is the crashes I am having every now and then. I am guessing it could be because of Winamp, Cricket 2004 and the !xspeed @ +1.74. Need to monitor for a full game or so before we could seriously think of trying to move to streaming video of the game if at all.

Streaming video would be cool......
But i do wish that we get a online multiplayer option soon in cricket games. That will take cricket games to whole new level of fun.

sounds like a good idea to me.....but it can be made better
