Story Living with India

Congrats to India on winning the test series :clap. Great batting by Gambhir and Sehwag :clap. Ojha was outstanding with the ball :hpraise.

Ojha is really turning out to be a good spinner for the Indian side but i personally feel that they should also go with Piyush Chawla who is the other option when Kumble retires. This series win was much needed for the Indian side and from now on i can see that they can reach the top of the rankings if they play their best cricket in the next few months.

Great story mate :clap KUTGW :)

Thanks for your suggestions, I will take them into account when I am selecting the next squad.

India show they can deal with pressure

Kent v India, 3 day match, St Lawrence Ground

ind3test2.jpg

India won their toughest match of the tour so far by 5 wickets.

Team

1. V. Sehwag
2. W. Jaffer
3. R. Dravid
4. Y. Singh
5. S. Tendulkar
6. R. Uthappa
7. M. Dhoni (captain, wicket keeper)
8. H. Singh
9. I. Pathan
10. I. Sharma
11. P. Ojha

With an experimental line up, India were put into the field first on a good batting pitch. Four batsmen got into the 40s, but none of them passed a half century. A team effort from Kent however gave them a total of 288 all out.

Ishant Sharma took 5/110 and Irfan Pathan took 4/154 as India only used three bowlers in the innings.

The tourists failed to impress with the bat with many risky shots, but the middle order of Rahul Dravid, with 57, Yuvraj Singh, with 51, and Sachin Tendulkar, with 53, stabilised the innings. India were bowled out for 291, a lead of only 3 runs.

Spinner Min Patel claimed that India were not the best players of spin bowling in the world as he took 6/62.

Joe Denly's 51 and Martin van Jaarsveld's 93 put Kent on top of the match, declaring on 247/7 and setting the visitors 245 to win on the final day.

India's aggressive attitude meant they lost wickets at regular intervals, but Yuvraj Singh's unbeaten 79 got his team over the line in brilliant fashion.

India have now played six unlimited overs matches on the tour of England and have won them all. Lee Payne's first series as coach has been very successful, with a commanding series win over his compatriots.

Ojha won't last and stop overbowling your pacers;).

I do agree give Ojha a bowl he didnt even get an over and Sharma bowled 46!!!!!!

I will use the bowlers sparingly in the one day series. I haven't seen the fast bowlers complaining though!

Nice victory there! A very well deserved victory!

Thanks.

Whitewashed

England v India, 4th Test, Headingley

2008010557662001.jpg

England came close, but India completed a series whitewash in the Tests by winning the fourth match by 3 wickets.

Team

1. V. Sehwag
2. G. Gambhir
3. R. Dravid
4. S. Tendulkar
5. V. Laxman
6. Y. Singh
7. M. Dhoni (captain, wicket keeper)
8. A. Kumble
9. S. Sreesanth
10. I. Sharma
11. P. Ojha

England had the first use of a good batting pitch but only Kevin Pietersen, for the first time in the series, really made the best of it with 72. Wicket keeper Chris Read was left stranded on 47 not out.

Sreesanth did the damage again with 6/102 as the home team were bowled out for 227. Ishant Sharma, back in the side, took 4/125.

Rahul Dravid was back in form, but fell agonisingly short of a century. He scored 99 before he was caught by Ian Bell off the bowling of Steve Harmison.

Mahendra Dhoni's 66 helped India to 322 all out, 95 runs ahead.

Captain Michael Vaughan was a one man band in the second innings. His 113 off 140 balls was the only score above 50. The total of 302 all out set the tourists 208 to win.

Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir and legend Sachin Tendulkar both scored half centuries as India finished the series off in style. Gambhir made 72, and Tendulkar an unbeaten 63. This was after Virender Sehwag was out on the very first ball of the innings.

India won the four match series 4-0, a major scalp for new coach Lee Payne.

There is no way you got your opening bowlers to bowl 37 straight

4-0. That incredible given that India had not won 4 matches abroad in long time.

England whitewashed by India in England :o This is something which Aussies have in their dreams. Miraculous stuff from India. :p

As I said, I will rotate the bowlers more in the one day series. The 4th Test had already been simulated when the comments complaining about the amount of overs bowled by certain bowlers were made.

I think you should heavily praise your new coach for the performances. :D

Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Murali Kartik, Munaf Patel and Rudra Singh

Good picks. Munaf will prove to be vital for your victory.

WHY IA OJHA NOT THERE???

look how well he has done in my most recent story udate (check sig)

good work and amazing 4-0 victory good luck for the one dayers and nice squead

Munaf will prove to be vital for your victory.

I will say, it's going to happen otherway.. He is going to be unimpressive and frustrate the coach. ;) Lets see.. Picking Raina is another gamble.

Well your selection is better than the current Indian side in Australia. But Murli kartcik is overrtaed. Hes home tiger and will not perform in England. Piyush Chawla would have been right choice considering he likes getting KP out.

I selected him on your recommendations!

From looking at his statistics, he is more of an unlimited overs player than a one day one.

I remember reading once how Raina was a prodigy in India. How things changed!

He has played well in domestic cricket in England in the past. We shall see how he does.

Dravid steers India to win in series opener

England v India, 1st ODI, Lord's

sp4.jpg

India have taken a 1-0 lead in the five match one day international series after winning the first match by 5 wickets.

Team

1. V. Sehwag
2. G. Gambhir
3. S. Raina
4. R. Dravid
5. Y. Singh
6. S. Tendulkar
7. M. Dhoni (captain, wicket keeper)
8. Z. Khan
9. R. Singh
10. H. Singh
11. S. Sreesanth

The captain Michael Vaughan scored 81 as England batted first, facing 93 balls and hitting 10 fours in the process.

Ian Bell's 47 was the only other score close to a half century, but the hosts looked set for a large total at 214/6 with 10.2 overs left.

India used their bowlers effectively though and were able to bring back all of their frontline bowlers, none of them having completed their alloted overs. By employing this tactic, England were all out after 43.5 overs for 237.

The visitors batted conservatively, everyone but Virender Sehwag, who made only 8, got starts. Rahul Dravid used his experience to make 77 not out off 93 balls and get his team over the line.

India reached their target 5 wickets down with only 1.4 overs left.
