Yeah Kalyan and Bharat, the UK was selfish in standing up against the germans and fighting them TWICE. :

If we had not stood up to them you repective countries would probably be under German rule. Though the US did intervine, it took Pearl Harbour (three years into the war) to make them do so. Basically they fought because they had been bombed, not because WE needed help. Yes the US are selfish I agree on that.

Yes I do, but for me being under the chains of another nation, being denied freedom is the worst punishment to a nation and what difference would it have made to India if Hitler was replacing Atlee in doing so.

Note that we are discussing what would have been have been different for India if Germany had ruled it instead of Britain, not Hitler's policies regarding the Jewish people.

Would't have been much different from the British rule for 200 years on our land.
Nothing can be done.History can not be changed.

I think we've reached a point where we have to go very far into history to find out who really were the bad guys.

The guy that was shot seven times HAD to be. He was wearing a thick coat in the middle of summer and when police asked him to have a word with them he ran for an underground station!!!! In light of what happened the week before it was a stupid move. Police could not take the chance if he had a bomb on him. They were justified in shooting the man.

I dont think so. The officers took a risk in killing the innocent man and now it is there bad, but i certainally do not agree with shooting him 7 times at close range, thats just brutallity.

But he knew he was living illegally in this country...

I'm not saying this wasn't a good move by the police, I neither compliment or criticise them for this, it was a mistake, but people are going to be killed in a war against terroism. That's a fact.
