I love closed setup games with a little bit of writeup, makes it quite interesting, and thought provoking.
I agree with most here, the HP mafia was one of the best games here. Apart from the gameplay, it was super interesting because Spin had allowed so much flexibility in the roles, kept everyone guessing even till the last moment.
We need games like that again. Larger games are better, because people can take more risks.

When we're playing 7-9 player games, and starting with a lethal night 0 as well, it leads to a MYLO/LYLO situation very early in the game.

You played in it. So you lead the way, recreate it.

HP mafia was the best, even though I didnt play in it.

It was definitely the best, because I tweaking dominated and got rigged out of a win. I played as town, called all 3 mafia then died. Came back as the mafia godfather, got myself out of a lynch, had Abhas join me on the mafia front and I got screwed out of my win because town had a technically triple vote. (2 and a half votes according to the mod). I think I honestly played better than Abhas in that game, he was just lucky in that his actual role was swapped to the mafia right at the end where he had enough time to towntell as town

and I like closed games, they're hard to balance. All my games had a horrible habit of being too townsided

I replaced matt who was godfather at the time when he was pretty much scumread by anyone. I bused whoever my partner was the next day, who died, you were converted to mafia following his lynch and it was pretty much good game from there.

Also, with a lethal night 1, if you have 8 players and 2 mafia, that guarantees d1, you have a mislynch.

Seeing how enjoyable Varun's was, I will try do a big closed set-up game based on a movie as well.

All right, myself and El Loco are going to try and create a very ambitious rappers Mafia in June. We'll try and bring the glory days back for everyone. It'll be huge and rest assured the write-ups will be absolute gold.
