Mohali pitch is always bowler friendly green pitch and it will be same this time also. So Pakistan have a slight advantage here.

But i think that will not be the case this time i feel they will try to make a batting friendly pitch as much as they can.Although you can't change the nature of the pitch completely but still it will not be that Mohali pitch

Every time people make the same mistake by writing off Indian bowling attack in green tracks, forgot Perth,Durban? Pak will have advantage only if its Flat track, thats where Indian bowlers struggle, If its green top Indian bowling will be almost as effective as Pakistan bowling and of course Indian batting is better than Pak, So even if its a bowler friendly pitch India has the edge.

If you get a green top, umar gul will come in play big time, and Pakistan have a better fast bowling attack to Indians. Z khan will be a problem as well but I don?t think munaf would be as effective as others.

There you have a good point. In a green top Pakistan bowling will be better to Indians but Indian batting would be far better then Pakistan?s?. not only Pakistan mind you! with any Asian team ? their batting is awesome!!! But if Pakistan can keep India under 260. who knows

Yeah i am also feeling that both teams will make their seam attacks stronger.As for Pakistan i think they should bring Shoaib instead of Ajmal because we've already got Hafeez and Afridi as spinners and i don't think that ajmal will make any big difference

If Indians think smart, they would give a very green English wicket. But still there will be a bit of a risk. What if Pakistan win the toss and invited IND to bat. So when Pakistan bats the wicket will be not so green… this is very tricky , I don’t think Indian captain wants to make the same mistake, one Indian captain made in 1996 …

Will be interesting to see what the wicket will be like for sure. If it is slow and low, both teams will be relatively happy as spin has brought both India and Pakistan this far. Afridi and Co have been the main breadwinners for Pakistan while Ashwin, Yuvraj, Harbhajan (apart from Zak ofc) have choked the batsman for India. If it is a real swinger than idk... Umar Gul might do some work on us but we got Zaheer in reply. In all honesty I don't think that Pakistan's other seamers are all that great - Wahab, Shoaib, Razzaq etc don't really scare the opposition.

It is about as 50-50 as you can get for me. I am interested to see how the young guys like Kohli and Raina respond to the pressures of a WC semi final vs Pakistan. I think this match is easily the biggest they have ever played for everyone involved, Sachin included. Can't believe I am going to be missing half of it... damn school!!

^ which exact mistake was that? We won the game against Pakistan in the quarters. IIRC Sidhu made 90 odd and was man of the match and all Indians including myself had our hearts in our mouths when Aamir & Anwar made 80 odd in the first 10 overs. Also a key moment was when an overconfident Aamir hit consecutive fours of Prasad and then chided him. The next ball Prasad cleaned bowled him with a peach of a delivery.

Im pretty sure the same would hold today also where both the teams are closely matched and a slight lack of concentration or over confidence by either team could cost them the match.
