I did not realize soccer was that popular in Australia.

It's getting there. Not as popular as AFL, Cricket and Rugby. But the crowds are okay I guess.

It's a sporting rivarly with the root of it from football. None of these Melbourne guys on here are big football fans so basically they have nfi and put it down to jealousy - even though Sydney were the better team in football this year.

Oh please, the rivalry is most definitely not based on soccer And I've never said we were better than you in the A-League this year, just that your slim superiority doesn't make you better at sport than us.

It's at it's fiercest in football. Rugby League its QLD vs NSW, Cricket theres no massive rivalry and Union it's Aus vs NZ vs SA.

Football is definitely where Sydney vs Melbourne is at its most violent and passionate best. It's like Inter vs Milan, Barca vs Real and United vs City.

Soccer goes great guns in schools but the numbers fall when it reaches the top level.

Depends is its Australian cricket or a state side playing. State cricket only ever gets a couple of hundred. Int cricket gets better crowds than football.

Us Aussies are smart so we'd go to the soccer match then go to the cricket which will be still on
